My first time building a box mod. Need some pointers

Should I use the n-channel mosfet with 15k resistor or without it? using 14g solid copper wire. Some random 3amp switch on ebay and fatdaddy 510 connector. Will mostly just run .3-.5 on dripper and 1.3-1.5 on rba's.
Already designed my box via the pnp method.
First time using a soldering iron but I should be fine. lol
