Ok, today i bought fluval water polishing pad for 304/305 and 404/405 fluval filters. The material is very soft and the employee said "its 100% poly-fiber and is not treated with any chemicals". It is almost identical if not identical to the stuff that comes in 510 carts. I got this tip from one of Ms. T's how to videos. First I rinsed it out and let dry. Then I cut a piece, stuffed it in, filled and vaped. It took about 9 drops but I did cut it shorter cause i didn't want to much filler in there. You could get about 15-20 drops if you completely stuff your cart. It vapes almost the same if not the same as a regular cart however, when the cart was dry i pulled the poly out which was dry but found liquid at the bottem of the cart. Is this normal? This only happened the first time i used it after that it seems to be working just fine. I also seem to taste less flavor but I have been using this juice for a while on the same atty so that may be why. I will say that the past week this juice's flavor seems to be tapering off. Also, Is poly-fiber and poly-fill the same thing?

Put your PV mouthpiece up in a cup or a shot glass so the liquid runs to the atty.

Tonight I was fooling around with some Fluval a friend here sent me and I came up with something interesting. I cut a piece about half the size of the original filler in length and the same width and rolled it so the center was loose but tighter as I rolled it.

The Fluval she sent tends to grab the sides of the cart and rolled allowed a place for the mesh to stay wet. So far it's working really good and since it doesn't go down very far into the cart it holds a lot of juice. It's a version of a dense plug I read about here. Plus it was easy!

I got some of the meridian rite size u today.
Cut a few pieces and gave it a try.
Held the liquid great.
Vap'd consistent and for over a couple hours.

I seem to being getting an after taste and my throat has become irritated.
The flavor of the liquid is not quite as pronounced as it was with the pre-ready carts.

Is this common with fluval?

I really like the fluval vs poly-fill, but am worried about what could be causing the throat irritation if it is something the foam maybe treated with or the what it is made from.

Thanks for any response.

Did you rinse it off really good before you used it? Just the fact it went through a manufacturing process means it should be cleaned.

Anyone use the big bag of poly from walmart in the crafts section? Grabbed it for a few bucks today wondering if its fine or precautions other than washing needs to be done.

no but I think I should of because this fluval just really sucks. If you put too much you can only put like 3 or 4 drops in. Not enough and it leaks. It has wicking issues(after a few puffs if i dont let it sit i get a filler taste) I find chain vaping on the manufacturers filling quite easy. The flavor seems weaker as well on the fluval.

I haven't bought this but one of the vendors said he bought filler at the fabric store. He said it was the 1'4" batting on a roll and sold by the yard (or portion of a yard). I guess it's stiffer than the batting in the bag and easier to work with. JoAnn's Fabrics here carries it and if I remember right it was $5.95 a yard.

I have used polyfill, fluval, and blue foam. Right now the fluval is my favorite.

The polyfill worked ok, but had to be replaced too often before it started tasting burnt.

The blue foam seemed to work the best as far as wicking the juice to the atty, but I just couldn't get past the chemical taste (my fault, didn't clean the foam enough before use).

The fluval wicks good and lasts me about a week before I have to replace it. I use the same cart all week and just keep topping it off as I vape. I rinse the fluval in hot water then I split each pad into thirds of the thickness then cut into strips one and a half times the width of the cart. For me, a cart holds about 15 to 20 drops depending on the viscosity of the liquid I use.
