Ive tried jewerly cleaner soaking... Polishing Cloths.. I aint rubbing 30 mins on these things.

So I have decided to completely disassemble them and remove ALL rubber gaskets and do a carburator dip on them.. Its the costic used to clean carburators for rebuilds... Ill let you know how it comes out...

The stuff makes carbs look like new... so should make GG's look like new..

Ill let you know if a funeral for #327 & 764 or in order

I know the costic eats rubber so Im going to remove all rubber on devices.

Dont use denture cleaner on GG's it pitted up my #327

Denture cleaner??? OMG that's too funny!!!:lol::lol:

Carburator Dip? Hope it's NOT just 2 GG funerals there Mr. Mad, and THOSE in themselves would prolly kill me!!!

If I were you and obviously I'm not, I'd take them to my jeweler for a sweet polishing! :2cool:

Hey Mr. Mad after you get yours cleaned up and I HOPE they make it...
Try this to make things a bit easier in the future:
If you have an Ace Hardware nearby, they sell that clear thick film that is used for the bottom of drawers and cabinets and you can wrap your gg in it piece by piece and use a razor knife to cut the excess off. Of course you do that after it is all polished up and cleaned. And then they stay nice & shiny and a breeze to keep clean!!!

Hope this helps and Best of Luck there Mr. Mad!

I wouldn't have thought a caustic bath would be a great idea for a polished aluminium surface.

No, I don't think so either, it'll definitely take off the polish from what I remember -- my metallurgy professors wouldn't be happy with me! However, it will get rid of those pesky smudges!!!:lol::lol:
