I was changing the battery and the firing pin dropped onto my floor and vanished into thin air, I looked for an hour and I am ...... -- 3 questions:

1. Why did this happen? Bad plastic piece? Is there supposed to be an o-ring somewhere?

2. What do I do to replace it? Nothing on VK site......anyone recommend a nail?

Edit: I'm now using a cut brass nail, its loose but I have a whole jar!!!!

3. How the hell do you keep it tight? I tried tightening the screw when I noticed it was loose but that obviously didn't work.

I have my avs arriving today (I HoPe!) and now this g-danged thing is useless.......:evil::evil:

Yes, I am replying to myself -- when you work alone and are a Gemini, this is a typical occurence........

The pin was in the middle of my cleaned floor when I returned from showering -- WTF?!?!?!??!?!?! I'm truly spooked!

It is still loose, though -- how do I fix that?

Ripple, in the early GGTS units I believe there was only 1 2mm O-ring in the paragon pin fitting and and the later ones had 2 and like JTurse said Imeo is going to be using 3 of them, try the Home Depot they carry the Danco O-Rings that I use and should have them a pack of 20 is like $3 bucs also Rob should have them over at VK's under the spare parts section, use at least 2,, 3 if you can and you should be fine

I had the same problem, apparently i'd somehow lost the o-rings when takin it apart and not knowing they were there, but i ordered a pair from vapor kings and it's back to new thank god, it's a lot more fiddly for me though because i have my 808 thread adapter permanently fixed around that post so i had to use the blunt end of a needle to poke them down, holds the pin nicely again.

Can someone confirm the size of these o-rings? I switched to a 510 atty today and pulled the pin out all the way by accident. The o-rings got tore up when I tried to replace it. I later noticed it was leaking liquid from the collector into the battery tube. I see 2mm x 1mm listed here... Need to stop by Home Depot to get them most likely and just want to confirm the size.

Thanks all. Wylie, your thread will be very helpful. Wish I had taken the time to find it yesterday :) Now I get to make an o-ring hunt!

Follow up: Well 2mm X 1mm o-rings are actually pretty hard to source locally. I managed to find some 3mm X 1mm and I managed to ... uhhum... work them in to make a seal. Ordered a set of 10 of each o-ring online... just in case. The GGTS manual helped in ordering correct ones.
