Does that include the federal tax increase from SCHIP, or on top of that?

It doesn't always work out either. Irieland.gov has been loosing €1 million a day since it raised the cost of a pack of cigarettes to $10 in the last budget. People are choosing to travel into the North to stock up where they also buy their booze and groceries. As a result of the weak sterling and the British drop in VAT, they can be obtained half price - well worth the run. tobacco smuggling is also increasing.

All taxation is theft. Even if it "benefits" children.

Every time they want to tax us, regulate us, or otherwise control us, it is "for the benefit of the children". I am sick to death of hearing this story. It seems the very air I breath somehow detracts from the children. It may actually benefit the children briefly, but in about 6 minutes some greedy, nasty politician or beaurocrat will find a way to redirect the funds into some shady nepotistic business deal that eventually leads into their pocket. I am sick of hearing lies that may sound good to some half-informed nitwit out there. I want the truth - and unfortunately that has to start with ending sensationalistic journalism.
/rant.

I have vaguely heard of yet another tax here too. I say we have a "DC Sin Party", much like the Boston Tea Party. We all line up on Capitol Hill and smoke and drink and rev our engines.

Wow sounds like that ..... we have for a gov in KS. We dont have enought $$ to pay the state workers this week so now she is talking about 75 cents also. You add that to the 61 cents the feds are adding = 1.36 a pk.. But the funny part about it is, yesterday the Senate spent all day trying to figure out a state wide smoking ban, instead of figuring out how to make the payroll. This is a sign of lots of good things to come ::000))

I guess the law makers in our states don't have anything moe important to do . The economy is going down the tube and they are worring about smokers. Lets get real here and put proitys in place.

I also know of several web sites that sell analogs american Indian made for $14.00 a carton and I hear they are decent smokes. Guess where everyone will be buying analogs . NY has tryed for years to shut them down but can't so far. Johnson Creek may have to move to the Indian Revesvation and some of the e-cig sellers. That would fix them blood suckers..

When she was insurance Commissioner I frequently dealt with her office and told everyone she was useless. She never did anything. I couldn't believe when she got elected Governor twice. More of the same completely useless, does nothing. I thought finally, she can't run again, we're free. Now Obama wants her!?!?!
