Last night on Bill Oreilly in a report on a prominent senator, he dicussed that there was bill that was buried in the senators committee that dealt with kids.
Oreilly and John Walsh both contacted this senator directly and talked with him about the bill.
The senator THEN agreed to push it out of committee and the bill passed. He as much as admitted that he hadn't even looked at the bill until 'pushed' and then saw it was good and got on it.
These law makers and journalists don't look, they have others feed them 'Cliff Notes' and go about looking good while doing as little real work as possible. The more the the light is shined forth for them the more action they will take.
