What do people think about the Blu e-cigs?

I'm am way to overwhelmed by what I'm reading and i still do not have a clear picture of what ones I should be looking for.

Something inexpensive, long battery life, looks and feels like a cigarette, close enough to Marlboro Light 100's like I smoke now... and if I smoke a pack a day now, what mg streangth should I be gearing towards when I order?

I don't have the cash like I'm reading from others to just throw away if I don't like it to try a different one... If that is the only way to go, might as well keep smoking.

Sorry don't mean to sound angry or negative, just frustrated because I have been reading for a while now and nothing is clear cut from what I see.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Opinions will vary here (as you might have inferred on your own), but try any KR808D1 models which are the industry standard for new "converts" so to speak. There are many providers out there; on the basis of many reviews though and my own view of course, check out Bloog's starter kits. As for Marlboro Lights 100s, then maybe an extended life battery (long) with some pre-filled cowboy or reds flavor cartomizers in 16-18mg might do it for you to start. Welcome and good luck!

Yup,808s are a great place to start.Vapor4life seems to have the best selection of batteries and cartos.They have sampler packs so you can try different things.Look around and see who has the best deals.

You have to ask your self this question first:

Do you want one that's similar in size to a cigarette but the battery only lasts for a couple hours or so.. or do you want one that looks like a penlight but the battery lasts all day?


Due to the limitations of modern science those are your options -- you can't have a cigarette-looking one that lasts all day, it's a physical impossibility (otherwise car batteries would be the size of camera batteries by now, LOL).

confusing, isn't it? I started with Joye 510 but needed more, switched to Joye ego wich is more vapor. Sorry, don't know any thing about the one you mentioned. Juice is very subjective, just got some called Bourbon from my supplier & love it.

If you can get past the typical "newbie" reaction that it looks just like a cigarette, you will have much better chance for a successful transition and without spending much money. An eGo or Riva 510 PV (personal vaporizer) is the size of a small cigar. You can get a kit at Liberty Flights for $30 -$35 and you will be more satisfied than a mini PV that has a battery life of about an hour instead of 5-7 hours. Plus definitely get manual batteries NOT auto batteries unless you like to be frustrated.

If you want to skip a couple of steps in evolution (it seems a lot of people start from the Blu or something similar--namely an auto batt), you can go for an eGo/Riva setup, which is where I started. I didn't know my head from a hole in the ground when I started, but I was lucky enough to have a friend for guidance; you have TONS more friends here than I had at the beginning (I got lucky...those who spent $50-$100 bucks on a $20 unit at the local smoke shop, not so lucky).

I won't kid you: it's as much a hobby as a lifestyle change; this will not be your last unit; and you will play "flavor roulette" after a time. These are three things I should've anticipated but didn't. But I couldn't be happier about it!

I personally think you would be happiest with a system that offers versatility--one that allows you to experience a myriad of ways to vape (such as direct dripping, cartomizers, cartridges, different attys, etc.)...that system for me has been the Joye eGo, but just about any 510 system with a manual battery will get you the same results.

I totally understand being overwhelmed, PoeticVirgo, but stay the course...you'll be so much happier and healthier in the end!

Almost everyone and their mother carries eGo's. Keep in mind what you spend on cigarettes and remember that you get what you pay for.

What it boils down to is if you are willing to refill your own cartos you won't go wrong with Joye Ego or if you can't get past that looking like a cigarette thing a Joye 510. It beats me why people who are trying to quit want to be reminded of a cigarette every time they take a puff but that's up to you.

If you want to start by buy buying prefilled cartos then you should get a KR808 preferably the larger manual XL. Or you can always add an XL later. You will already have the charger and they aren't that expensive by themselves You will find the best selection of prefilled cartos here.

Get some prefilled sampler carto packs and juice samplers to refill when you empty a carto. Don't assume you will like the tobacco flavors, not everyone does.

I don't know how long the Bloogs will last but I started with V4L and a carto lasted me almost all day. It wouldn't now and your millage will vary. I was smoking half a pack a day at the time.

A cartomizer does not last as long as a pack. You need to add ejuice - if you add ejuice whenever the vapor gets weaker you will avoid singeing the stuffing inside and can probably get 4-7 days or more use out of one cartomizer. Buy ejuice.

I also prefer Vapor4Life.com because they have manual batteries. (BTW you can use Vapor4Life's cartos too)

I have both. I use cartomizers on the 510 most of the time

KR8 is fatter and longer with standard battery (120mm long, 208mah or about 3-5 hours of use, less if vaped heavily). KR8 has the most prefilled cartomizers. It is a dedicated 2-piece but if you want you can use a 901 atty or with an adapter some other attys and carts, and if you have manual batteries you could also drip on an atty.

510 is slimmer and shorter (110mm w/ atty and cart, 100mm with standard Boge carto) - more like a normal cig size. Less battery life though - 180mah or about 1.5-3 hours, less if vaped heavily. Not many good prefilled cartos for 510 but the largest variety of blank cartos. So there are parts for using it as a 3-piece (as it is shipped) or as a 2-piece with cartos. If you want the same battery life as a KR8 then you can get the 510 mega xl batteries which make it longer than a KR8.

For either you will be adding ejuice. For either there are portable charging cases available (a case you charge up then it can do 3-4 battery chargings).

I own both, I like both, have both on my desk right now with different flavors.

For heavy smokers, hard draggers, and people who need or want 6-8+ hour battery life - skip the slim ecigs and go right to an Ego, Ego-T, Riva 510 etc

Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Riva 510 . With their 20% discount, it's like $29. That will give extra money to get eliquid, some blank carts and a package of blank cartomizers.

And any supplier that tells you a cart is equal to even a 1/2 a pack of cigarettes is feeding you a line and I would be wary. It's more like 1-2 cigarettes at best.
