just thought i should post some pics of my current setups....

first one is my aluminum box. inside is an aga-t+ rba, 18650, and dc/dc boost converter. engraved with a pick in my spare time.

The first box is sick! I've been eyeing a lot of these DIY box mods and trying to figure out how to make one of my own on the cheap with some vw rather than vv. I like the design of yours though.

honestly when it comes down to it, vv and vw is the same thing. any adjustment or change to your voltage adjusts your wattage. given that your resistance stays constant, and your battery/circuit can still provide enough current, any increase in voltage will result in a direct increase in wattage, and vice-versa. the only type of circuit that would behave any different is if you were to implement some type of PWM control to regulate the temperature of the coil.

I get that but the "smart" setups maintain the wattage regardless of the voltage as there can be irregularities between coils/heads. Figure a coil gets a bit gummed up towards the point it's due for a cleaning or rebuild and theoretically, the resistance changes because of the gum up. In a perfect world, a vv setup would be fine and maintain a constant wattage. Correct me if I'm off the mark.
