I've been a member of these forums since early 2011, when I began vaping on a cigalike to see if there was anything to these "e-cigarettes". I was a pack-a-day smoker and had been since the early '80's, and was mildly interested in some alternatives to smoking. If I'm honest with myself, I really wasn't looking to quit smoking because I really enjoyed it. It was only after a couple of days of tugging on these cheap gas station e-cigs that I was stunned in the realization that I hadn't even missed smoking a real cigarette, and was actually enjoying the e-cig more!! Well, by God, proof of concept had been achieved as far as I was concerned. Let's go all in!! Over the years, I've had everything from carto's, carto tanks, vivi nova's, and several different clearomizers. For their time, they each functioned well (for the most part), but I was getting tired of the leaking, gurgling, and general messiness, and really started missing my cigarettes. I wound up going back to smoking until a couple of years ago when the Aspire Nautilus Mini was released as a kit along with the first Eleaf iStick. I decided to give vaping another chance, and was immediately blown away by how much vaping hardware had evolved in the couple of years since I had gone back to smoking. This time I was irreparably hooked. I've spent the last two years seeking my personal vape nirvana, and have found that I do not particularly enjoy direct lung hitting. I vape how I smoked.

For the first time, after trying dozens of tanks and devices, I now have two setups that have gotten me to not even look at any new developments in vaping hardware. I've achieved the performance level I've been looking for since the beginning of my vape journey and I'm not even interested in anything else new. And that's saying a lot, for someone with chronic shinyitis like me.

And here they are:

IMG_0025.JPG

My primary device (on the left) is the Dicodes Dani Extreme v2+ with a Tobeco Kayfun v4. The Dani is the holy grail of mods for me because I love tube mods, but am annoyed by the lightsaber-ish length of Vamo's or even the Svoemesto Semovar. The Dani is by far the shortest 18650 regulated tube mod you can buy, although if you live in the US like me, you'll need to get it from overseas. I bought the Tobeco Kayfun v4 to see if I liked how it performed, and I absolutely love it. I intend on getting an authentic (if I can even find one).

My backup device is a Provari P3 GMZ (Gunmetal ZenKote), which in 18500 mode is nearly identical in height to the 18650 Dani. I absolutely love the performance of the P3, but in 18650 mode, it's just too tall for my liking, which is why it is now a backup device. Perched atop the P3 is an authentic Kayfun Lite+ v2. This was my first RTA, and I still love it. I have found the KF4 to have slightly better flavor, and is considerably quieter than the KFL+.

While I prefer my primary setup, both of these have checked all of the boxes in my list of vaping needs/wants/desires.

My journey is complete. How is yours going?

Similar story to me.

I tried cigalikes a few years back and they didn't do it for me and I went back to the butts.

Fast forward to recently, I bought a Nautilus Mini and iStick 40TC and quit smoking on the spot and never looked back. I will be one year smoke free next week!

Crazy year of buying and selling for me but my main rigs now are tube mechs with a Subtank Mini (still love them), a REO with a Griffin or a Provari with a KFL+'s.

I have never Ben happier vaping and have no interest in ever touching another cigarette.

Like you, my chase ended at Kayfun style tanks. Haven't had a need to try anything else. I mostly use V3 plus clones and KFL bases with 6ml 34mm Orchid poly tanks. Nimbus RDA's from time to time but the trusty kayfun style vape is perfect for me. I have enough bases and parts to last 2 lifetimes.

I have 4 kfl in rotation. Like you, I'm pretty much set, but can't resist something new at times. Once, I went 11 months without buying something new...just couldn't quite make it a full year.
I expect to get a couple of backup tanks and parts, but pretty much just the same as I currently have. The Dani and P3 set me back a pretty penny, and if I want to stay married, I'll keep using them until they fail. Luckily, they're both relatively new and I expect years of enjoyment out of them.

I have reached my vape Nirvana when I finished my Hohmtech collection, I have the G1, G2, Slice and Skillet now the skillet has it's own tank and I have Smok TFV4 and TFV8 baby beast tanks for the 1,2,and Slice.
Now some will say I am crazy, but when dialed in the FSK chip is aces.

I've also pretty much reached the end. I've had ego, mvp's, etc and I've used the Vivi Nova's, Aspire BDC, Stardusts, etc. I ended up almost the same place as you. A couple of Provari 2.5's, a few Kayfun V3 minis and a few Kayfun V3 mini plus. I make my own coils and juice and I really need nothing except a few flavors now and then. I miss the days of excitement when the vapemail arrived. But it is nice to watch the money pile up now.

Just got both my v4's (I think one is Ehpro and the other is Tobecco) up and running again. I cleaned them up really good, replaced a couple of o-rings and now I have a v4 that is just as good as the authentic (well almost). Funny story; I spent two hours getting one of them working and I broke the :censored: glass . Ordered one from fasttech along with a V5. I'll never stop, I'll always be chasing that perfect MTL setup. I should've chose the blue pill.

Ya, Iv been vaping now non stop for just short of three years. But if I ever found a vape that did`nt require any tinkering whatsoever I really don`t know what I would do with myself. I find the tinkering, the modding, the perfecting, and the building to be almost as rewarding as the vaping itself, so consequently I suffer from terminal shiney itiss.

The "having something to do with my hands" was very important to me in the beginning, and I guess its just part of my psychology. I`m just a hands on kind of guy. If I cant make it better, I`m not much interested. For me its the chase, the capture is good, relaxing, rewarding. But the real fun is in the chase. :?) Its cheap considering what smokes used to cost me, very cheap indeed.

Egads, I think I just described a Hunter-Gatherer. LOL.

A very appropriate statement. Oh and by the way, vaporider.net has Tobeco KF4's for $16.50

I'm going to see how I like that KF5, I love the v4 BUT the juice flow controller is it's Achilles heal. Plus I like TC the KF4 is horrible in TC, in it's defense TC didn't exist when it came out. Worst case scenario I'm out $13.

Mine was nearly completed about 2 years ago when I found Super T and Titanide mech mods with Prometey and Achilles toppers with Super T Contour drip tips. I say nearly because I am still waiting on 30,000mah batteries that will last a day or two of chain vaping.

It really isn't designed as a "juice flow controller", rather a shutoff that's designed to be either fully open or fully closed. I've found that using using 28g 316L wire for temp control works extremely well with the KF4 on the Dani.

As long as it's in an 18650, I'm all in for that one...
and the rabbit hole has opened again
Quickrete works extremely well

Ya the JC is like a gate. I can get 316l to work but it takes way too much time and effort to get it to work consistently. Easier just to use 28g kanthal imo.

The funny thing of my journey so far is, I almost gave up direct lung vaping when the Kayfun v3 Mini came out this year. Two months D2L with my Kv3M and I thought I will never touch anything else.

I had a love-hate relationship with my Fev v3, never went to the next level of relationship with my Tayfun GT2 either and was always thinking of going back to analogs. No wicking, no tools, no hate, no dry hits, no flooding, no frustration, just taking a cigarette out of the box and boom. Done.

I have to say that I was always a dripper guy. I love the flavor I get off of my drippers and I started to miss it somehow. This thick, dense, warm vapor in my mouth...
Then, I had the opportunity to get an original Petri v2 in Europe after weeks of abusing the search engine. Suddenly another big black hole opened up.

Juice! I need juice. It was already past the 20th of May 2016 where this little country I live in, decided not just to push through this questionable TPD2 directive, no, this little country also decided to transform to the North Korea of Europe by prohibitting online sales of electronic cigarettes and e-juice. But guess what - there is always a way! So e-juice wasn't the problem anymore.

After using my Dotmod petri on a noisy cricket only I thought again I was in heaven and will never touch anything else. Then I bought a Double Vision by Compvape. Then I upgraded to another series box mod. After that I visited NYC and took a Recoil with me. A few weeks ago I found a B&M 200 miles away from me which sells high end mods from all around the world. I bought a 24mm Goon. I have an eye on the MCM underground series mod. This is a vicious circle.

But what helped me a lot by ripping through juice every month. Right. Kayfun Mini v3 with 12mg. This has become my go-to tank. At work, at dinner, everywhere except for home. I still drip at home and it is fun again. I will come back to this thread in a few years. I'll promise! :)

BTW: I am still looking for a 19mm tube mod to put my Kayfun v3 mini on :/
