I've been a member of these forums since early 2011, when I began vaping on a cigalike to see if there was anything to these "e-cigarettes". I was a pack-a-day smoker and had been since the early '80's, and was mildly interested in some alternatives to smoking. If I'm honest with myself, I really wasn't looking to quit smoking because I really enjoyed it. It was only after a couple of days of tugging on these cheap gas station e-cigs that I was stunned in the realization that I hadn't even missed smoking a real cigarette, and was actually enjoying the e-cig more!! Well, by God, proof of concept had been achieved as far as I was concerned. Let's go all in!! Over the years, I've had everything from carto's, carto tanks, vivi nova's, and several different clearomizers. For their time, they each functioned well (for the most part), but I was getting tired of the leaking, gurgling, and general messiness, and really started missing my cigarettes. I wound up going back to smoking until a couple of years ago when the Aspire Nautilus Mini was released as a kit along with the first Eleaf iStick. I decided to give vaping another chance, and was immediately blown away by how much vaping hardware had evolved in the couple of years since I had gone back to smoking. This time I was irreparably hooked. I've spent the last two years seeking my personal vape nirvana, and have found that I do not particularly enjoy direct lung hitting. I vape how I smoked.
For the first time, after trying dozens of tanks and devices, I now have two setups that have gotten me to not even look at any new developments in vaping hardware. I've achieved the performance level I've been looking for since the beginning of my vape journey and I'm not even interested in anything else new. And that's saying a lot, for someone with chronic shinyitis like me.
And here they are:
My primary device (on the left) is the Dicodes Dani Extreme v2+ with a Tobeco Kayfun v4. The Dani is the holy grail of mods for me because I love tube mods, but am annoyed by the lightsaber-ish length of Vamo's or even the Svoemesto Semovar. The Dani is by far the shortest 18650 regulated tube mod you can buy, although if you live in the US like me, you'll need to get it from overseas. I bought the Tobeco Kayfun v4 to see if I liked how it performed, and I absolutely love it. I intend on getting an authentic (if I can even find one).
My backup device is a Provari P3 GMZ (Gunmetal ZenKote), which in 18500 mode is nearly identical in height to the 18650 Dani. I absolutely love the performance of the P3, but in 18650 mode, it's just too tall for my liking, which is why it is now a backup device. Perched atop the P3 is an authentic Kayfun Lite+ v2. This was my first RTA, and I still love it. I have found the KF4 to have slightly better flavor, and is considerably quieter than the KFL+.
While I prefer my primary setup, both of these have checked all of the boxes in my list of vaping needs/wants/desires.
My journey is complete. How is yours going?

Luckily, they're both relatively new and I expect years of enjoyment out of them.

. Ordered one from fasttech along with a V5. I'll never stop, I'll always be chasing that perfect MTL setup. I should've chose the blue pill.
