Hi all
Quit 2 whole weeks today :rickroll: I keep thinking to myself how did I ever smoke those things for so long (32 Years ) . My job involves travelling around visiting people properties I have been doing this for 4 months. Over the last week I have noticed when I go into certain places I can smell cigarette smoke which must have been there before but I never smelled it. And I must say I nearly reach every time I smell it. And yesterday for the 1st time I stood next to somebody smoking and it smelled like a bonfire I had to get out of the way fast.

Do you ever think now as a non smoker how the non smokers felt about us when we lit up in public places ?

Have not touched one in 2 weeks and have no desire to be near one. 402 cigarettes not smoked!!

Keep up the good work everybody.
Phil.

Congrats on 2 weeks analog free! For the first time since giving up analogs 5 days ago it is raining here tonight, and I am enjoying vaping while staying dry inside instead of having to feed the addiction while getting soaked. I haven't yet reached the "that smells" phase yet being around smokers, but I'm sure that is coming in the next few weeks as my senses recover from the 12 years of abuse that I put them through.

I refuse to be the .....y ex smoker that complains when people smoke, but I do agree that sometimes a cigarette smell hits you like a pillowcase full of bricks in the face, I just do my best not to react to it.

I don't mention it or move away, I just suck it up thinking, if only they knew the joys of vaping and then I vape near them, hoping they will ask.

Congrats! It's so satisfying to be off stinkies, right?

I remember when I first stoped smoking I passed a lady in the grocery store and I could smell she was a smoker a good 10 feet away. Wow. I used to stink like that. I know it.

One thing I never will do is get all high and mighty on people who still smoke. It only serves to make someone feel bad.

Ditto x 2.

Well done on the conversion to vaping. 2 weeks in and still going strong. I see you are in the u.k. What part?
I hate second hand smoke but still understand the mind of a smoker. They don't realize how much it makes people wretch until they are a non-smoker by which time it's too late. We were all that kind of person once too.
I get it far worse than most. I drive a bus around Edinburgh for a living and the last thing a smoker does before getting on the bus is to take a great big lungful of smoke before the doors open. Exhaling it all over the driver. EGGGHHHH!I've tried waiting until they've exhaled before opening the doors but you get some filthy looks as if to say " come on what are you waiting for?" Some people have to keep smoking till the very last second and if you keep the doors closed they just keep smoking until you finally open them. Exhaling all over the driver. Then they get off the bus 5 minutes later. They smoked that last cigarette like they were going to be on the bus an hour or more.....:oops:sorry ranting there a bit. Welcome to the forum

Hello, welcome & congrats on your 2 weeks :D

What type of e-cig are you using Phil?

BTW, I'm also in the UK :)

Hi Chrissie
I have heard a few people mentioning your name as a good UK source.
After a few recommendations I got a 1100 spinner and a Evod. I am having a few issues with the evod it seems to flood every now and then. I seem to be getting through a lot of juice 2 or 3 refills day. I have read a few suggestions to cure the Evod about taking a wick out and things but I do not really understand what to do.
Phil.

Yep that used to be me. I did get to the point where I was smoking way to much it ruled my life. I always thought I have got to stop this at some point. One day my partner told me her cousins husband had tried one and he has quit. I asked her the brand and looked it up. I did read a lot of info about not buying a cig e like one but like a lot of people I bought one for the convenience. Did not enjoy that one bit but the funny thing is the first time I put it in my mouth I decided that was it. Since that time I have never faltered to have one.
Also I have been going through a lot of stress at work at the moment and got the sack yesterday so I am really happy with myself.

Ask your employers for a gas mask:blink:

I am in North Yorkshire.

Congrats on your first 2 weeks! A fantastic milestone!
Isn't it great to be able to smell things, and taste things again?

Others have said it here.... I try to refrain from getting up on my soapbox about cigarettes. I don't want to sound like so many did when they lectured me on quitting the cigs. Others smoking and smells from same have not been a big problem for me mostly. BUT, I was indoors at a banquet type of a function when somebody walked by me that had just come inside after a smoke, and WHAM! .....an AWFUL smell hit me in the face. It wasn't direct smoke, but probably the smell coming off the clothes and hair.......WORSE than the smell of the actual smoke, I think. (Never realized how bad it smelled, especially to non-smokers that actually have a sense of smell....lol)

It's funny how the smell hits you in different ways, at different times.

I am not saying it to get at smokers in any way I just cant believe what a difference I have in the perception and the smell.

The Spinner & Evod were a good choice for you to go for :)

Not tried an Evod yet so can't help you with them - sorry :(

This Tuesday will be two weeks of no analogs. I feel so much better healthwise. I have ms and since I stopped analogs, I have more energy and my balance has improved and movement. Hoping getting rid of all those carcinogens out of my system will continue to make me more healthy each day! The improvement in my health is the biggest motivator to keep vaping. Although my ultimate goal is to reduce nicotine and stop vaping all together. Not sure how long it will take... have been smoking for 30 years!
