I think my instincts were right back when I said something along the lines of I'd pass on the Kick. At least on the PrecisePlus, I'm finding that the Kick actually detracts from my vaping experience under most circumstances. I love my PrecisePluses because all you ever have to do is drop a battery in it and vape your ... off for a long long time. The Kick interferes with that for me. It destroys battery life, destroys that impossibly reliable clean clear connection, it just doesn't cut it in a P+. Of course this all is just my opinion and you know what they say.
I'm not knocking the product; it's magnificent and everybody should have one. There are applications for which I believe it's indispensable: rebuildables, mods/atomizers which need that little extra oomph, many places for the Kick to fit in my life. The PrecisePlus is not one of them, apparently.
I'm going to go celebrate Vape Day by going out and plunking my .... down in some random public place and vape my P+16 with not a care in the world.

My first week using the Kick I was not impressed at all. But then I realized I was using the same cartomizers and juice that I always used on my Precises, and those were chosen over the past year or so because they did work perfect with a Precise.

So I decided to dig through my collection of other cartos/attys that didn't fit the bill in the past. This is where the Kick really came through. All these old cartos have a new life now that I can hit them exactly at the right wattage. The $45 Kick has brought 50+ cartos that I thought were just wasted money back to good use, so for that I'm happy.

I still prefer my P+10 and P+18350 for at work and when out and about, but at home the Kick with my P+18500 or P+18650 get used much more now.

Crap. Looks like I have to eat a little crow here.
About an hour ago I received my uh, next 18500. I had asked David to set it up for the Kick right out of the box.
Don't ask me why, but it's performing completely differently. Awesome. Leads me to believe a little user error is involved with my gripes.
My new 18500 has a much different finish than my first. It's much more luminescent, on the verge of being shiny but still has my beloved low-upkeep satinness. I'm still astounded by these things.
Vape on!

Here's another slight difference between my first run 18500 (left) and my new one. Hopefully it shows up (please ignore the lint) - the center post is quite a bit smaller in diameter on the new unit.

I haven't had to many problems with the Kick on my mods. The battery life is noticeably diminished though. Maybe they could make a Precise extension cap so you could use an 18650 w/ the Kick. I don't have a Precise, but I know that Nhaler started making the Xhaler that uses a 18650 and a Kick. It is build specially made to be used with the Kick so you shouldn't have misfires. I don't mean to mention another companies thread in the Super-T thread as I know that the Super-T pvs' are great. I'm just throwing my thoughts out there.

I had issues with mine and while I enjoyed it, it seemed to fire incosistently and was just all around flakey. My P+18650 came with the o-ring set up for the 2600 mah battery (1 washer, 1 thick o-ring). I added a washer and a thin o-ring and BAM it hits every single time, and I don't have to jam the button. I noticed when screwing the top on that I got some resistance towards the end. I think especially if you want to use the kick, you want a little resistance at the very end of screwing the top on, or else it's going to be flakey. While I was pleased with the kick before, because I could swap tanks and atty's etc on it and not have to worry about their resistance, I'm actually very happy now that I've worked some of the kinks out.

Maybe someone can clarify something for me. Somewhere I swear I read that the Kick's safety cutoff started kicking in when the battery measured 3.2 volts under load, which generally meant the battery was at 3.5 volts at a resting state.
I seem to have my misfiring issues solved but am still a little irked about the battery life.
Do you think the Kick's voltage cutoff is reasonable, and why?

I checked a AW IMR 18490 that the Kick was starting to shut off on, I can't recall the exact voltage, but it was well above 3.2 volts, maybe 3.5-3.6 range. Of course I know the Kick is measuring it under load.

I'm getting about two to four hours vaping out of a 18490, I vape 5+ ml juice per day. Time just depends on how heavy I'm vaping, I've gotten 6 or 8 hours out of them when I've been working outside or something and not vaping much.

EDIT: Just had one start to cut off a bit, pulled it and checked it. 3.71 volts on my meter under no load, FYI.

I just picked up a P+18 and was hoping to get a kick for it but this report makes me not want to. My VV PV with a 18490 won't cut until battery is 3.2-3.3V resting but it hated my genesis line during wick break in and would E1 error constantly. Oh well my P+18 and genesis line atty are working great as is :) Crazy thing is I thought once I went VV I wouldn't go back but a rebuildable atty tank that performs like dripping will do that to you

The 3.71 volts was measured at the first signs of it starting to cut out. It will continue vaping a bit after that. You'll start to notice it doesn't hit every time, especially if you've been hitting it hard. Or it may be off and on. It basically starts acting funky, that's when I know my battery is getting low. If it hits 99%+ I know it's good.

I'd love an extension tube for the P+ that allows me to use a IMR 18650 and the Kick, but the mod would be huge. I'd still use it though.

Once you get the hang of wrapping the coils, and find out where you like them, VV and VW isn't as necessary. I still really like it with my line because my setups always seem to fluctuate, especially after washing out my line. With the kick, I know I'm getting the same vape whether or not my setup has gone up or down a few tenths of an ohm.

I had some issues at first, and my kick started doing the whole "stutter" thing REALLY quickly... with the batteries metering at about 3.6-3.7 volts. I tightened up my P+ with an extra o-ring (total 1 thick + 1 thin) and a second washer and it really seemed to make a difference with how well P+ and kick were making contact. Now when I get the stutter it usually seems to hit around 3.4 volts or so. Keeping the brass contact clean is important too.
