The 3.71 volts was measured at the first signs of it starting to cut out. It will continue vaping a bit after that. You'll start to notice it doesn't hit every time, especially if you've been hitting it hard. Or it may be off and on. It basically starts acting funky, that's when I know my battery is getting low. If it hits 99%+ I know it's good.

I'd love an extension tube for the P+ that allows me to use a IMR 18650 and the Kick, but the mod would be huge. I'd still use it though.

Still at 3.7v it shouldn't be having any issues at all. That aw imr 18490 should be able to supply enough current to satisfy the kick maxed out to at least 3.3V

Once you get the hang of wrapping the coils, and find out where you like them, VV and VW isn't as necessary. I still really like it with my line because my setups always seem to fluctuate, especially after washing out my line. With the kick, I know I'm getting the same vape whether or not my setup has gone up or down a few tenths of an ohm.

I had some issues at first, and my kick started doing the whole "stutter" thing REALLY quickly... with the batteries metering at about 3.6-3.7 volts. I tightened up my P+ with an extra o-ring (total 1 thick + 1 thin) and a second washer and it really seemed to make a difference with how well P+ and kick were making contact. Now when I get the stutter it usually seems to hit around 3.4 volts or so. Keeping the brass contact clean is important too.

I would like the regulated power. Like I said my provari could drain an aw imr 18490 to 3.2V resting without any issues. That lasts me a day of vaping at 10watts. I just don't understand why the kick cuts out so early ?

Yes when I first got my line getting a stable coil was a pain but now I can wrap a 1.1 ohm coil in a few minutes and after another few minutes it settles in at 1.6 ohm. If it feels weak I nudge it a little and we are back in business. I have the 2600 aw cells and 1 cell lasts me 2 day's and I swap when it hits 3.7V This way I am easy on my batteries and get a pretty consistent vape :)

It seems that Evolv really decided to play on the safe side with the Kick, for probably very good reasons. Can be a little frustrating though for advanced users who are used to a certain level of performance.

The best use of the Kick for me is with a rebuildable. I can't replicate a coil to save my soul and it's so nice to just slap it on the Kick and not worry about it. And like you said, it seems my DIY coils tend to meander all over the map (why?) through the course of a day and the Kick just regulates all of that.

The reason the resistance changes is small shorts in the stainless steel wick. If you used silica wick instead it would be rock steady. I will probably still pick up a kick to play with

No stainless steel for me. Probably just little shorts up near where the NR and R wires attach. It's all good.

In my case I think it's ineptitude, but we'll go with your explanation.
Like I said, it's all good.
There's a guy at work who's trying to quit smoking with the aid of a blu. Today he showed up with his blu *and* a nicotine patch. Then his blu crapped out. He came in from his break reeking of smoke. I just said "Dude." and handed him my Kicked 18650 with Ody and Aroma 26mg Havana Golden.
I had to use a putty knife to get him off the floor.

If you handed me that I'm not sure you'd get it back :p

Well, I wasn't notified, nor am I special. I just got lucky and bought it straight retail. I had to stalk, fight through server crashes. And I lost...didn't get one.
I contacted Gentlemen's Reserve in Canada in a last ditch effort. He told me he was not able to sell to me as contractually with Imeo he could only sell to Canadians. Oh, well.
A few days later he contacted me, said that as per a conversation he had with Imeo he could open up sales of his remaining stock internationally, and I happened to be first begging weasel on the list.
I would have never, ever paid the sort of gouging that went on in the aftermath.
