My Lab 01 original portion review

ok...so i just my first part of my order from getsnus.com. fast shipping ordered wednesday afternoon...just received it this morning (friday)...nice

i did not have a snus for 3 hours on purpose because i knew it was coming in today...thanks to getsnus usps tracking.

upon opening the can...it smells just like the general original portion sampler i have.

the taste...well..to me there really isnt any...just salty lemony (berganot?) taste. i find it better to bear with than the general tho. i dont taste anything else...i do feel a slight nic buzz..at least i think i do

also in my partial order is the general dry mini mint and the free can is the general white portion wintergreen..i will do a review of those.

also keep in mind...im very new at snusing...i went from camel snus..to general sampler in a weeks time.

im hoping Lab 01 gets better

nice review. There's a few things I like about the lab-series snus, although I haven't ordered the lab01, but have many cans of lab02 around. The long portions are great, the size fits nicely and is more discreet than the regular pillow-shaped portions. Lab uses a unique non-drip formula, which gives off very little juices..kinda like a combination between a white portion and an original portion. The nicotine strength in the Lab02 is what keeps me coming back to it...it really gives me a nic-punch in the face! Flavor is a nice tobacco, with a bit of nuttiness to it.

Nice review. Just remember, after a week or so on the Swedish snus you're tastes might change. I got used to the salt, and the true flavors really came out. Some got better, and some didn't...

im waiting for my taste to change.....i really want to enjoy the flavors

For me, the breakthrough snus was General Onyx. I loved it from the start, and after I finished that can everything tasted a little different. Most were better.

Right now, Grovsnus Black and general Onyx are the two Snus' that I don't want to be without. I'm leaning that way with Lab as well, I just want to try the can of 01 thats in the freezer before I make up my mind.

coming from menthol cigarettes and mostly minty and sweet e-juice...and really liking camel snus.....im wondering if minty snus will suffice.....altho..i am open to new flavors

im giving camel snus a 2 day break...gonna try it again on sunday and see if i still like it

You know the smell of a freshly opened pack of smokes.....the fresh tobacco smell. That's what lab-01 tastes like to me, only with some salt.

The main problem with the camel snus is the price, and you only get 15 mini's in a can.

If you like peppermint, you may want to try the thunder frosted minis. They are in my regular rotation.

Haven't tried the 01 yet, assuming it's the same flavor, but less strength than the 02...?

Very nice flavor to me. Salty, nutty, tobacco flavor, and the nic hit is amazing.

I like getsnus for the fast shipping, however they've sent me that general wintergreen as my free sample for the last 3 orders now, and I -kind of- enjoy the flavor, it's the horrendous burning on my gums which gets to me. That, and the 10 cans of lab02 they just sent me all expire next month....

My last mystery can from getsnus was the Grovsnus WP. It strikes me as similar to the Lab01 in flavor, but more pronounced in the tobacco.

A little stronger than an Ettan WP in tobacco and salt but still not as strong as the General Original.

yes..the 4-pack foil sampler came with the wintergreen....it nice...very minty...only thing i found...flavor didnt last too long...and it had the lemony berganot undertone...which im not too fond of.

im still a major rookie to snusing.....man i cant wait for my tastebuds to settle and really enjoy snusing

That's pretty much what I got from the Grov regular. Richer I 'spose. It's growing on me by the day, but I still prefer the 02 as I'm so bland myself. The Oden Original ES is my latest Extra Stark. Tastes like a mild Grov. Good, but doesn't take long to get bitter, sorta bummed about that.

asidrave, I think it's more of developing a taste for the different. I loved the 02 from the start, but it tastes different now than in the beginning. And the Oden I'm currently ravishing I probably would have hated if I'd tried it early on. Hang in there buddy .

Yep, good advice. It's hard to make a good determination on the 1st one. If I like it from the start I'll stick with it for a day or 2, maybe through the whole can. If I don't care much for it, but it doesn't gag me, I'll revisit it occasionally for a few days to see if I develop a taste for it. If it gags me it'll go away for a while.

I say give it another chance or 2 and if it's still not appealing, wrap it up and stick it in the fridge for a while and try it again in a week, month or whatever. Straight 'baccy flavor might sound good someday or maybe not. There's a lot out there. V2 Tobacco makes a brand called Offroad with one of the flavors being Coffee/Vanilla. Good stuff. Another that seems to be taking root around here is Oden Kanel (cinnamon). And if you like the General Mini Mints, they've recently introduced a full-sized version. I haven't had any, but those who have say the flavor is the same as the mini, but has 8mg nic. Some folks have a couple flavors they use all the time and some rotate through a variety throughout the days and weeks. Keep looking and you'll find what works best for ya .

well ive been using about 2 pouches of Lab 01 a day now for 4 days.....

i like it...the salt and bergamot taste are light now..not as strong..im getting used to it so im liking it

tabacco flavor is faint but there...its good....most likely tastebuds still adjusting

flavor lasts about 45 then just fades away.

if i roll and knaw on the packet at this point..i get a bit of salt and a tiny bit of tobacco..no bergamot...time to toss the packet

overall not bad...cant say if ill get anymore...i have sooo many other snuses to try

I wouldn't get the iced fruit if I were you. Brewster and I agree that it is awful. The salt is so strong on this one that I could hardly believe it. Being hard headed, I kept a portion in for at least 45 minutes and it still had a strong salt flavor. This is the only one I ever thought about throwing away.
