My mod fires low wattage from what i set

If a 250w mod won't let a vaper run it at 100w with 3 x good 18650 batteries, I am glad my foray into evolv dna is just a basic 75w mod.
Methinks some total overkill is going on here.
Like all this 'update firmware' business...
You'd have thought people would have had enough of constantly having to update their gadgets. It's a vaping battery... it should do what it says without interference or attaching the thing to a computer.
The O.P. has been badly let down i.m.o.

Yours, frustratedly in support of my fellow vaper.

First, Battery Analyzer is used to help the mod calculate how much charge is still in the batteries. It makes the little battery icon more accurate. If that's super important to you then that's what it's there for. Personally, the generic battery settings are fine for me. Do make sure you identify how many batteries and what the Wh is (it will calculate it for you if you ask).

Output wattage by coil resistance. This is an issue in every single regulated mod. You cannot avoid it. A regulated board will only put out x Volts and handle current of y Amps. Here are the DNA specs.

Note atomizer resistance. Min max are a function of output power. The wattage delivered cannot exceed the volt an amp specs of the board. What does that mean? Here's a graph of output wattage vs. resistance based on the load (coil)

If you go here https://downloads.evolvapor.com/dna200.pdf you'll find the spec sheet, which makes it easier to blow up to read the numbers better. From 0.1 ohm to ~0.4 ohm it will fire at 250W. Above 0.5 ohm, the max wattage begins to fall off. This is not really a big deal, as if you look at say a 2 ohm coil, trying to push 250W through it will result in an unfavorable outcome. Same thing on the opposite end. Power output will decrease when you get down to 0.05 ohm, at which point it's being cut off as it's virtually a dead short.

First, the board should be adjusting to a max according to the resistance.

Second, why do you want to go to very high wattage? Too high wattage will only end up in dry hits, burnt wick, and even the possibility of melting the coils.

Is the vape you're getting not satisfactory at the 67W it's giving you? More wattage does not mean "better". You need to learn about balancing things instead of worrying about high wattage.

Third, the never DNA boards do not need battery profiles like the older ones did, you just need to ensure that it's set for the type of batteries you have, which I'm pretty sure is set by default anyways.

If you load Escribe and on on the "MOD" tad, you should see the battery set at Lithium Ion 18650, and a Khantal safety power limit.

Good work you guys. Not sure why, but it seems that newer vapers seem to think more is good. Start out with something that is easier to use and work your way up. When I first got a DNA I had already practiced with the simulator and had a pretty good understanding of Ohm Law, Wire TCR's Had been using the SXmini's for over a year which is much easier but the DNA when set up properly is the best I've found so far for Temperature Control with SS. The SX is excellent also but the Evolve team hit it out of the park with their last FW upgrade. It's still not a beginner's mod. It is a good way to make a beginner think this isn't for him and thats not what we need. You need to walk before you run. The DNA is easy for me now since I only use SS316L so the only profiles I need are Power and SS316L. The profiles from Steam Engine work great and that's what I use. I don't need the ones for Ni200, Ti, NiFe60 anymore even tho I still have spools around all I use is SS either on Power or TC.

Another thing I found very useful on the DNA is the analyzer program on escribe and if using TC you can see what it is taking power wise to heat the wire you are using and hold the temp. Then set the power limit accordingly. For me with a single coil SS K5 it takes around 11-12w so I just set it for 20w with a 1 sec pre heat at 30w and all is well.
