I've ordered lots of mods from a number of different countries. China, Indonesia, Russia, Australia, the UK, Canada...and now France.

I ordered a mod from a vape shop in France. Made it out of France OK. Then Monday (December 30, 2019) US Customs and Border Protection held up my parcel. Not a word since. I looked at the USCBP website. It lists a number of prohibited items, vaping equipment not being one of them.

I don't know what to do now. The Postal Service is no help. Since they (USCBP) haven't contacted me, I'm not sure that I should reach out to them first.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

What is the exact message you get on the tracking?

I ask because my packages often take 2-7 days to get through customs. The message might give some clue as to what is going on.

Edit: I have also had packages show up in my mailbox even though tracking still said it was in customs. The post office having failed to put its journey across the country into the system.

I just got a message from USPS that my parcel is on its way to Denver. I don't know why I got so worried.
It is a tough time for vapers. Some anxiety is inevitable. I have multiple small orders coming from China at this point. I am just hoping they go through before any real shutdown happens. When it comes to international shipping though just take a deep breath and figure it is going to take awhile. Add in the holiday and delays are inevitable.

On the French tracking system it says that my package has been held up by customs. The US tracking system says "In-Transit Inbound Into Customs"
If they have a worry about the product rather than just being back logged they will contact you I believe or at least I have been contacted and then 6 days later it was released. Inbound into customs is part of the process. If its there over a week you could try and reach out but honestly it can take time. Oh I just saw the update however I will leave this here for the next person whos searching for this meaning

I have had things held up in customs (most recently a bunch of snus) but I don't think contacting them is wise. All they can do is hang on to it for a while, open it, and then throw yellow tape around it which is their equivalent of "If we could pee on it we would, but we been here."

Later, things may be different, but eh. For now, let customs be and mostly it will Let You Be as well.

I'd give it a little more time. Customs could just be backed up post holiday season.

This is good advise; it happened to me. Eventually I got a card through the door saying that I had to pay customs charge on my item online, after doing that I had to give them a time for delivery or present the card at the royal mail delivery office.
