I normally vape at the .3-.6ohm range but today I decided to go really low for a while to .17ohms (the lower I've been before was .24)

an my nemesis decided to shock me between the 350 and the 650 seam everytime that I vape.
before the safety posts begin
nothing is getting hot
I'm using 25amps out of my 35 vtc5
been rebuilding / using mechs for the past year
I'm not a cloudchasing hypster (well I'm not a hypster)
etc....

I know there must be something dirty on the threads but I don't see it and somehow I can't find my alcohol to clean it.

so for now I'm holding my mod from the lower end and hopping that you tell me that cleaning with vodka or similar is ok

has your mod zapped you?

Sounds like the current is passing through your hand instead of the mod, from your pinky on the button to the fingers on the tube.

Which should mean that your hand has less resistance than the switch assembly, so i'd say the switch is at fault.

Do you get a zap if you put the mod on a table, only hold the tube and fire by pressing the mod on the table ?

Sent from Tapatalk, typos its fault.

If I was one of the "Safety First Guys" I'd say.
"Serves you right for going that low"

But seeing as I like to push the envelope myself, I'm posting on this thread because that will bookmark it as " My Posts" and I love a good puzzle and can't wait to see what the solution is.

Alright I'll make two stupid suggestions.

1. You could vape with insulated gloves.
2. put a piece of electrical tape on the spot where your hand touches the mod. Then you won't complete the circuit.

holy....i'm getting the same thing, a tad higher ohms...but right in the middle seam where i have my beauty ring in my nemmy it's zapping me, not getting hot, i have the bigger upper contact so i need the beauty ring and go figure it's stuck on there, because i wanted to move the beauty ring to the top to see if it goes away...mod not getting hot

i'm now using the same topper on a brass nemmy and the mod is getting warm but no zapping

Cleaning with vodka or similar is OK. I use rubbing alcohol on mod parts all the time also and that works well. I don't use it in attys because it's not safe to vape it.

If I had nothing like that on hand I would wash the parts with dish soap and hot water, giving the tube threads a good rub with cloth. Rinse well and wipe the tubes down good to dry them.

Good luck with it.

IMO, if the mod is getting warm you've got a dirty contact surface in the mod. If the battery is what's getting warm you're drawing too much current. Either way, I would fix it before continuing to vape it.
