Ok, so I got a few parts to replace on my REO

From left, the stock + bar, the replacement silver one and the now silver palted bolt & washer for the negative contact:

This is this morning, before plating the brass screw & washer & placing the new bar

.7 ohm comparison or REO 2, semi-modded & K100

So, I forget, how much of that was the pin, and how much was the spring?

BTW: I'm impressed! Please keep us posted as to maintenance and how it holds up!

pdlib, I saw the biggest improvement by going from spring to brass screw (about .4 volts)

Then I did the whole plating of the screw / washer + top bar, that pushed it from 3.8ish (.84/.85)on the .7 to 3.99 Volts

AND this is 99.25% silver, sadly the jewerly ran out of 99.99%

asked me how much was for all that? (custom making the bar + plating)????

c'mon, ask :p

i live in south america and services are dirt cheap

how much was it for all that, dhomes? :p

so, .15 on the top and .4 on the bottom?

not even $5 buck HE HE HE

roughly, yeah .15/.4, ever since I received the REO I was wondering why Rob used such a small screw to connect to the spring flat bar

also, even if you leave the stock spring, sanding the out the paint BELOW the spring / spring base area will give you an improvement, about .15 volts from when I checked (can't recall the coil i had)

Yeah, I sanded the paint off under the spring. This was back when you were wondering (dhomes) whether to order a raw aluminum one. I started noticing that my aluminum one seemed to hit harder than my black one. I felt like it made a difference (subjective, no metering).

Riddle me this, Mr. Materials Engineer (sorry, was that your field?): Does the safety spring collapse due to heat? (or directly because of current passing through it)

Yo, I'm an Structural Engineer, but live out of Software Development

the spring, i would guess heat, but I'm guessing

the conductivity of materials, yield strengths, elasticity I got broken down

I'm still a rookie at electricity, but after all the weird stuff I've done to my other mods I was confident enough to get onto doing this one

Definitely impressed with the difference . I am curious to see how it holds up . You should do another test in a couple weeks I am curious . You do realize for most folks this wouldn't really matter . I did a run of nickel plated mods under load these were very impressive compared to a anodized mod .

hey Rob, I will surely keep checking & thanks for the input

i know most folks don't care about these things, these things are for hobbyists and the like

same way most of us are happy with our cars while the guys spend a lot of time and money on improving the performance of their perfectly fine autos

btw, Silver does not oxidize, it does sulfates though

honored btw, hearing it from the maker itself ;)
