Welcome Oreodoom!

You will get lots of different answers on which is the 'best' starter. I say that it is either the 510 or the KR808. The 510 is a three piece (battery, atomizer, cart) and the KR808 is a two piece (battery, cartomizer). I think the vapor and hit is much better with the 510, but the 808 is a little less hassle.

Nothing against TW, but you are going to pay more there than mast places. My recommendation for a good first order is the $35 510 starter from cignot.com You will get 2-batts, 2-attys, 5 carts and a charger. Then order some SMALL bottles of juice from a couple places to find what flavors she likes. Some places to get inexpensive juices (in small amounts) are Nhaler and MsT's Bakery. (there are many others).

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Welcome to the forum Oreodoom! Highping gave you great advice and hopefully you can persuade your Mom to stop smoking for your health as well as hers. I would certainly second the 510 kit from Cignot. Depending on what your Mom is looking to spend, I would suggest getting a kit that has a PCC. For the 510, I believe they are a must have. Cignot is wonderful and customer service couldn't be better. Wish you and your Mom good luck! Let us know how everything works out.

Tell you mon to at least try it for her and yourself. I was not wanting to quit smoking when I tried the ecig (which was a 510). I was just curious.
But believe it or not I actually enjoyed the ecig after smoking for 40 years. Eventually I quit cigarettes all together. I was shocked since was I was an avid smoker who smoked 3 packs a day. I have been vaping 10 months now and never even think about a cigarette.

If I can stop smoking by switching to ecigs anybody should be able to. I already had COPD from smoking and now I don't even cough.

Tell her you love her and want her to be around a long time and if not for herself then for you. This always gets mothers( I know it would me)

I agree, the 510 from cignot.com is a great way to start out.

Good luck with your mother!! :)

Anoter vote for cignot here. I received my first 510 no box last week, my sis and I both liked it so much I'm waiting for my 2nd to arrive, probably tomorrow.
My only problem is I'm not a nic vaper and I'm having a problem with flavor... actually no flavor LOL... the nic carts we received are great, zero nic leaves something to be desired.

I looked at the Totally Wicked website. Was going to ask them some questions about the Tornado. Called their number - no answer. Sent in a request for someone to call me. No call. Then... I ran across a number of negative posts about them. :nah: So, I moved on.

Ended up buying an Janty eGo (Tornado) from dietSMOKES (dot com). The owner answered my email within minutes and then called me very quickly when I had some more questions. That is what "customer service" should be like.

When a company takes a long time to answer easy questions that may result in a sale for them, imagine how long it may take to get an answer when it's time for a refund or return...

Just sayin'...

Even if TW's service was better why would you want to pay for all that marketing and repackaging when the same thing can be bought elsewhere for almost half? To get a 510 with a cartoon devil on it? Maybe if I was 12.

Very true - unfortunately we live in a society that puts more value into being "entertained" than anything else. I guess one of the drawbacks of getting older is understanding that some things really WERE better "way back when". ;)

Hello all!

My mom is a smoker, but I'm allergic to the smoke so she's trying to quit. She smokes camel, and is nervous about e-cigarettes. Could anyone tell me a good starting one for her? I've heard that totallywicked is a great site, but which one is the best for a n00b?

TY for reading~

You don't have a location on your profile - are you in the UK?

I see most people are recommending the 510 but unless your mother is ok with a bit of tinkering and fussing, she may be put off by that model. It is a 3-piece (battery, atomizer and cartridge).

I have a KR808D-1 (VaporKing from Vapor4Life) and I like it because it's a 2-piece unit that just screws together and that's it. It's a good model for newbies.

If you mom is ok with tinkering and vapor is more important to her than throat hit and taste, I'd say go with the 510. If not, go with the VK.

Better yet, bring your mom to the ECF forum and tell her to take a look at the E-cig guide in the stickies. That will help her tremendously in making the choice that's right for her; it explains the differences between the various models, juices, etc.

A 510 is great - I have one myself - BUT if your mum is hesitant about technology then get her the simplest, 2 piece version, the KR8.
Both the 510 (very cheap and fast service from cignot) and the KR8 (around hte same price - cigeasy.com are doing a deal on their kit btw) have a learning curve on use, but as you can see from the posts, a lot of the users aren't teenagers (I'm not one iether lol) so it's not one of those kind of gadgets that you need a degree to operate :)

KR808D-1 here and the thing is great. Very easy to setup and use, very "n00b" friendly as it were being only 2 pieces.

If you go with the KR8 unit, it might not give quite the vapor or maybe the hit as a 510, but its a really good unit to start off with and get used to the idea of vaping with. Carto's are easy to screw on and just go, once you get more confident with filling them up, its equally easy.

Either way, good luck!
