Hello everyone,

I had only heard of electronic cigarettes and had never really looked in to them other than a few brief Google searches. My daughter told me that they sold them at the mall so I decided to go check it out. I ask the girl at the kiosk if I could try one and she let me. I took 3-4 hits and was instantly sold. I could not believe how realistic it was. I bought a starter kit that included 1 battery, 1 atomizer and one box of 5 cartridges for $100. I was told by the sales person that 1 cartridge was equal to 1 pack of real cigarettes, thus equaling 5 packs per box for $10 so I bought 4 boxes to go with the kit ($150 total). I got home that evening, charged the battery up and enjoyed it for about 5 minutes and it died. Not really knowing what I was doing I put another new cartridge in and got 5 more minutes of enjoyment out of it. I ended up taking it back the next day because I thought that one charge and one cartridge would get me through the day and I had gone through 3 cartridges and had to charge the battery twice in the first 24 hours. They told me that the atomizer was faulty and replaced it. That evening I sat down and got about 15 minutes out of it, the next morning nothing again. I went back to the mall and this time they said it was the battery and replaced it. That evening I actually say down fully intent on burning up an entire cartridge just to see how long it would actually last. I lost count after 1/2 hour and was quite pleased. The next morning, dead again. I go back to the mall that afternoon for the 3rd time (20 miles one way btw) and this time they told me it just needed cleaning. The girl sat and puffed on it for a couple minutes constantly blowing clouds of vapor. I now felt like an idiot for complaining. That evening, you guessed it, dead again. This time I take my first hit and the light starts blinking. I try again and get oil in my mouth. I was told to wait 1/2 hour for the safety device to reset when that happens. I waited all night, tried again this morning, same thing. I found out that there are no refunds on this product. I wasn't told that and didn't see a sign stating that however it is printed on the receipt. The receipt that I received after I bout it mind you. I'm guessing I'm going to get thrown out of the mall today because I am seriously frustrated with this PoS. I don't know if I'm allowed to mention the name or not but I would just like to tell everyone to stay away from anything sold in your local mall. I thought it was a good idea because of the human aspect. I'm always skeptical of online ordering.
Since buying this thing I have Googled myself silly looking for info which landed me here. I just wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone who posts here. Unfortunately I did not find this group until I had already been burned but there is so much helpful information here that the chances of that happening again are pretty slim. I know that this will help me quit smoking cigarettes and I really want it to work. I am just really frustrated (and broke) with my experience thus far and had I not found this forum, I likely would have cut my losses, bought a carton of Newports and moved on.

So again, thank you all for posting all of the great information and advice!

Just a word of advice. When the body is so large with no breaks, people tend not to read them.

Your SE Gold isn't a bad little unit. I've been using the 4081 attys for months now, and I'm happy. SE's prices are outrageous though. You can get better prices from the forum.

It seems like I've seen alot of "bad press" here about Smoking Everywhere and mall kiosks in general. Am I disillusioned? And isn't SE affiliated with Smoke51?

Well, my 4th visit today turned out pointless. The guy took my cig, hit it a couple times and said it was fine. The mall kiosk honors the 1 year warranty but how long they'll be in that mall is a yet mystery.

I will be researching these forums for the best online retailer but judging by what I've read so far, the Joye 510 is far superior and cheaper as well.

I have no problem getting burned, lesson learned. Because I know this is the answer. If I have a cigarette after using the SE Gold, it taste horrible. I can only imagine what it would be like if it worked consistently.

Probably a new addiction but a much healthier and cheaper one.:)

If my wife hadn't made the MISTAKE of buying a SE Gold at the mall, I never would have done any research into PV's. And then I never would have found this place... and I never would have gotten her the pink 901... and I never would have gotten my 510 kits.... and I never would have (almost completely) quit smoking analogs after 37 years @ ~3 packs a day.

Small price to pay.

Your story is all too common....but those lesser PV's sure do introduce a lot of people to the vaping alternative, and for that I'm sure we're all grateful. I went from the Njoy to the 510 and now I've got a Janty Stick and just ordered a Super-T. I'm going a little overboard, but I tend to do that sort of thing.

I don't feel too guilty about spending money this way, like I did spending it on cigarettes. I'll settle in one of these days, and then my only expense will be on cheap batteries and atomizers. I think we have some good stuff to look forward to. Just think how much more sophisticated (easier to use) these PV's are going to get!

Congratulations and good luck! :)

Cost is definitely a factor in my case. Cigarettes here are now $7.25 a pack. Even the $10 5-pack carts at the mall are a better deal.

This one that I have would be OK for an occasional smoker but I'm a 1 1/2 to 2 pks a day Newport smoker so I need something better.

It looks as though the 510 or 401 will be my next investment as soon as I find the best site to order from. There's thousands of threads to read through here so I'm pretty confident that I'll be making a well informed decision.

All of your encouragement and advice welcomed and greatly appreciated! Thank you!!

While I agree that some of Smoking Everwhere's Marketing staragies are questionable, you have to realize that you are not just paying for the e-cig that you buy from them at the mall. You are also paying overhead. I would not be surprised if they are paying the Mall between $3,000.00 to $5K a month in rent. And on top of that a percent of their gross. Add to that the electricity, business licsences, payroll, and phone.

I would not be surprised if SE is making close to the same margin as the folks that sell over the internet. The Mall, the employee payroll and the government are getting all the rest.

The important point is that SE is a significant factor in making smokers aware of this new industry.

I did the same thing when I started, but mine came from a kiosk called Sure,Smoke. Same return trips, etc, etc. But after reading some of Mr Davis's posts, I learned how to use this thing. One thing I did that helped was change the stuffing.I use Fluval in all my carts.

I agree with all the positive comments about SE & the other mall brands. They are getting the word out about these amazing little gadgets. I have loaned mine out to 2 other people & they both bought 510's. So I feel I'm getting my money's worth out of my 4081 & you can't beat the warranty. Plus I've only had to take 1 battery back & the atty once since June.

I just got it back from a friend in Alabama, left it with her last month. I'm about the sanitize it, charge it up & fill it up with some JC black cherry. I find the 4081 works great for strong flavors & menthol.

Good Luck,
NB

Your mom said not to say...
Bridgdog you should check out Litecigusa.com they have both the m401 and the 510 there available and cheap. Good fast shipping as well.

As for the OP glad you at least shared this instead of keeping it to yourself. I have stated in many threads that if people would do the research first they would stand a much better chance of successfully buying the best one for their needs not just based on someone else's favorite. Glad to see that you have not given up and that you realize there are cheaper places than the mall to get these.

BriDog67,

Glad to hear you're going to try again. I have a 510 and am very pleased with it.

From what I've read the 510 is bigger and more powerful than a 401 which is lighter and smaller. You'll find fans of all the popular models here.

I hope it goes well. Feel free to post your questions or share your experiences.

Yes - this forum has been a wonderful thing. Just like you - got ripped-off (but by a company online) on my first e-cig - now am happily vaping with a 510... had been smoking 35 years 1-1/2 pk/day and desperate to quit. I now only smoke maybe 2-3 analogs (cancer sticks) a day and even that is about to fade... It's been a godsend!!! I'm sure you can do it too!!!

Hi and Welcome!
I haven't seen anyone mention adding liquid to your cartridge.
I'm not too familiar with the SE products - but the thread link given earlier should provide you with more information.

There are people who are using their SE stuff and making it work for them.
Check into some liquid to 'top off' with and you should get more puffs as long as your batteries are charged up.

Happy Vaping!

Snarkyone,

The Litecigusa site takes me to one of those webhosting search pages, I've tried that one already. I went with the Rocky Mountain folks and got a 510, some cartridges and liquids.

I somehow see myself off of the Newports and vaping cotton candy an kung pao chicken flavors before to long. Which doesn't seem like such a bad thing.

Btw, Go Lion....if you're one us.

Did you get manual batteries or automatics?
Once you get your 510, check out the 510 guide (see link below!) There is a bit of a learning curve with it, but it's a nice little workhorse!
