First of all, hello! First post here! I've been lurking for a week now, and I think this forum is fantastic.

Like many of you, my first exposure to vaping was disposables. Eh. I saw some potential there, but the darn things just aren't powerful enough to satisfy a pack-a-dayer like me. I dropped some cash on the Blu starter kit, thinking I could recharge the battery and replace the cart when needed, but that didn't work out too well either. The thing would die when I needed it most (i.e. while driving). It would annoyingly decide on its own that I was vaping too much and not allow another hit when I wanted it (blink, blink, blink, blink, blink, you nicotine fiend, you!). For me, the widely-available Cigalikes were more frustrating than anything.

Since it was generally well-spoken of on this forum, I ordered a Halo Triton last week. It arrived on Saturday. After a few hits, I threw away the rest of my analogs.

WoW! There's that potential finally realized! I was totally impressed, and I've been shouting the merits of vaping over smoking from the rooftops. Two smoker friends of mine have already ordered vapes, after seeing mine and listening to my well-rehearsed speech. I haven't touched tobacco since getting my vape on.

My sense of smell is back, and my cough is gone. My wife is thrilled. We have a three-year-old daughter, and I hated smelling like smoke and exposing her to toxic chemicals via my clothes and skin. I feel great. And the switch to vapor was nearly effortless for me. I don't feel at all like I've "given anything up".

I work as a programmer/developer/systems analyst. I can't tell you how many technical problems I've solved while smoking alone outside, or bouncing some ideas off my "smoking buddies". This is one more thing I haven't had to abandon.

I'm already eyeing some upgraded hardware, although I'll probably maintain the Triton for the time being. I went to Avail Vapor in Carytown on Sunday, and bought some eliquids after sampling them on their tasting wall - Blueberry, Dirty Bananna, and Captain's Cut. Hello vapor heaven!

Thanks for reading this.

I'm the same way! This is one reason I didn't really "want" to quit smoking. I mean I did want to because of health, smell, etc., but I loved my smoking time, both by myself and with my smoking coworkers. I've also met some great people through smoking. It just seems like a lot of times when two people smoke together, they really talk, about meaningful things. I always wished I could just smoke only when I wanted to, and not have that "have to" feeling. Vaping is allowing me to still enjoy that time but without all of the negatives!

I don't have Triton but I just noticed that their 1300mAh battery is only 19.99. See that's why I went with Halo in the beginning, as a mainstream e-cig company I found their prices reasonable. I upgraded to ego type stuff, but I still use my G6 808 batteries and mini-tanks.

Weirdly their juice is the only thing too expensive.

Wait, I just looked at their vv battery, and that is a bit pricey. Oh well, nothing is perfect.

Anyway, congrats on the success.

Hi Joe welcome and congrats! Sounds like your wife and child are happy with the new, stink free you!

I have found vaping to be a great deep thought enhancement and you can think through problems for longer than the length of a cig. Just imagine the problem you can solve.

Again, welcome to the forum.

Welcom,

Join the club on the Blu's. I know what you mean. When I started on them I had to keep a pack of analogs close so I could puff on them since the blu would die or would not let me puff.

Lots of good info here. Stick with it, enjoy vaping. I have been clean from analogs for 2 weeks now and I already feel much better.

The last thing a nicotine addict needs is a new frustration. The smokers I hang with universally tried and abandoned the cigalikes after a day or so. I'm so happy that I found a unit with decent power. As long as I can vape, I'm never going back.
