Got it yesterday, charged it up and put it together and wow!! Then it suddenly dropped dead in mid vape. I changed the batt, the atomizer and made sure it was clean of any fluid and still nothing.

I noticed the batt isn't 100% secure inside the housing, so I tried a gently shake and holding it in various odd positions and can get it to work randomly for a couple of seconds, but that's it.

I emailed the guys at Altsmoke this am. I read some threads about stiffer springs in the housing and I think that may be the problem.

This sucks. Tomorrow is a holiday and I leave for a week long business trip at 6am on Tuesday. I'll be out a pv for at least a week.

Usually with the 14500 batteries, you have to trim a little of the plastic wrap thats around the battery. On the flat end, run a razor blade under the edge of the wrapper so that the end is completely exposed and try that. Altsmokes springs are just about as wide as the battery, so any interference causes it to stop firing.

Ok, tried trimming the battery and it didn't work, so I swapped batts and it now works. I'm charging the other batt now to see if it happens to be a bad one or something. Maybe the batt happened to die unrelated the earlier spring issue? Could the BB itself have a short or something?? Still waiting for feedback from altsmoke. I'm sure we can figure this one out.

Charger light is a constant red. I made sure to charge both batts until the charger went green before attempting to vape. I switched batts when the problem first started and neither worked. I then stretched the spring and it worked fine for about a half hour, then stopped again. I checked the spring to make sure it's centered and not touching anything...I then trimmed one batt and still nothing. I'm now using the un trimmed batt and it works fine at the moment.

I hope it isn't something with the unit itself. I'd hate to have to send it back (especially since I'm going out of town and won't be able to ship anything until I get back)
