Hey guys! Today I got a Davide tank from a local shop. At first it tasted rubbery and burnt, so I emptied it and washed it. That got rid of the rubbery taste, but it still tasted burnt. I set the tank down and removed a flavor wick (You can find how on youtube), and that got rid of the burnt taste. Now the full flavor is coming out with plenty of vapor, minus the occasional leaking. Here's a picture of it. Has anybody else used a Davide tank? What are your experiences with them?:2cool:

did they show you how to "dry burn" the coil before you start? (blow into it for 8 seconds to clean the coil?)

be careful taking out the flavor wicks, the keep your juice inside. might cause leaking (which you are getting)

you can re-wick easily, using a snip off a piece of 100% cotton when you need to. (some use pure yarn)

davides are great for "cooler" vapes. bcc's cool your vape, the heavy glass cools it more. bcc's slightly "mute" flavor as well, you may want to consider getting your juices at +1 if you have the option.

based on experience, i don't recommend these for tobacco flavor juices. too much flavor lost. well, not a lot, but enough to make a difference. use evods for tobacco juices and these for drink, desert type vapes and they rock!

check out on youtube how to rebuild your coils to save money. like this:

happy vaping! :vapor:

How would you reccomend stopping the leaking without making it taste burnt? I use high vg liquids. I took out the flavor wick because it tasted burnt, but I can put it back. It hasn't been leaking this bad until after I made the post.

you could try rewicking it. (that to stop the leak). when you start a fresh wick, you need to do a couple of "dry hits" to get the wick wet. i let my tanks sit for 5 minutes before using them.

also, are you checking the ohm rating of you coil to see what settings you should be using? ( i don't recognize your mod. is it a SID?)

we have a section called assorted pv topics. the tank and clearo section have posts about this kind of stuff. i can't remember if high vg is good or bad for wicks as i used 80pg/20vg. (went 50/50 and i was shocked at the flavor drop) i also use variable wattage now, which almost guarantees that you don't burn coils. plus i use lower settings than most. that may be due to higher pg in my juice. there are a lot of factors. you should spend some time looking around here.

Davides come with 2 coils, you can try the other one. (and actually, anyvape coils are crap compared to kanger. some folks re-build them before even using them.) i bought a bunch of mini-davides, the coils vary from 2.0 to 5.6 ohms!

coils are cheap:

Kanger ProTank Coil Replacement - 5 Pack 2.4 ohms

once you get into mods and bcc tanks (which you're already at), folks around here get picky about coils and wicks. you can use the search button to see what's been posted.

I bought a mini davide and it *doesn't work*.

I have been vaping over a year. I've enjoyed over 30 different clearomisers. It's also worth mentioning that I can rebuild atomizers and understand many of the weird and not-so-wonderful aspects to vaping.

It doesn't work because the liquid is stuck in the tank section due to some issue with the design of the base - i.e. I can hold my tank full of juice over the sink and the liquid will not drip out. Is it air pressure or juice pressure? I don't know. BUT, even sucking on it like a madman or shaking it vigorously still doesn't do it. :)

I regret buying it. I would send it back, but the vendor I use is liable to say "you are the only one with this problem....yada, yada".

I have used 80/20, 70/30 and 50/50 PG/VG. Doesn't make a difference.

Mini David Tank mk 2? :) :)

try changing the tip. it is also easy for the airholes to be blocked, try loosening it up a tad.

or do you mean the base?

:)

the tip. i have 6, yes there is a kind of vacuum, but it should hit. not firing is a problem that some folks have, even me. after trying a bunch of stuff, i figured out it is the base, loosen it a hair.

but i always change the tips. they drain faster with the tip off, so it might help.

after that though, try easing up on the base, turn it too tight and some don't work. there are threads in the clearo section of the Assorted PV Topics.

Thank you. I have loosened off the the base. Time will tell....I am hopeful. :)
