so I went and added a 900mah battery, plus the mega ego atomizer and carts (type B) and wanted to give you my impressions. First thing I noticed of course is that when assembled the thing is pretty big. A little more than an inch longer than a standard ego setup. Second impression came when filling the cart. Good lord you can load up the juice. And even with the HUGE atomizer that cart lasted me all day yesterday, smoking FSUSAs RY4 in it. Huge vapor, nice clean taste and i love the flat tipped carts. Battery life, well, i'll have to get back to you on that. I loaded it up 24 hours ago, been using it most of the time, with an occasional draw on my standard ego just for a different flavor (vapor bomb Grand Marnier, yum!)

So here is my overall take on it: huge TH,huge vapor, battery life like a champ. All good. Size, well, you probably don't want to make it your lug around for a night on the town unit, but if you're planning on working at home from your office all day like i was yesterday, and you aren't one of those "change flavors every 30 minutes" people, then you'll love this thing. Fill the cart in the AM and you're good to go all day. The heaviest vapers out there will certainly want to top off during the day, but I didn't find myself needing to top off but once for an entire day of vaping.

anyway, hope someone out there finds this useful...

Thanks for the Review.

I do have some questions though. You have now had this unit for two weeks or more, have you had any problems yet? I am a 2.5 pack a day smoker and my Lucky Slicks are driving me crazy with all the battery and cart changes, so I am looking for something with a lot more staying power. So how much did you use to smoke to give me some idea of your usage and how long does the battery last for you? According to the Janty website the mega carts will hold about 2 ml, have you found that to be true?

Oh! What brand of battery and atomizer did you buy and from where? Were you happy with their service?

Nice review!

I've been enjoying this setup very much too, for a few months now. I just started my 3rd atty/cart combo today. My first two were bliss!! Absolute bliss. This 3rd one sucks but is vapable. Can't wait to get a new cartridge for this atty. (some are grand, some are epic fail, so have plenty on hand!).

The only thing that makes this setup complete... is to set it inside a COV lanyard. yeahhhh. (cloudsofvapor).

I just want people to know that the actual atomizer in the mega atomizer is the same size as a standard 510 atomizer.

How do i know? I disassembled one. Just inside of the outer tube is a silicone sleeve.Inside of that is a very thin metal tube that separates the silicone tube from the metal mesh surrounding the atomizer. Now, the mega atties do have a lot more metal mesh around them than a standard 510. Once you strip away everything from the actual plastic cup that holds the coil it's just a normal 510 atty.

The amount of metal mesh around the atty and the cartridge size are what makes the mega atties so nice. I used a few the LR megas from Totally Wicked and I loved them.

I may dissect another and take some pictures just so people can see for themselves. I thought that the atty was bigger too until I did this little experiment.

Hello,

I think I can help as I too was a 2 1/2 pack a day smoker. I have the eGo setup with mega cylinder attys and cartridges. I go through 6ml a day of 24mg liquid with this set up. I use the standard 650 amp batteries. One of these last me about 5-7 hours. I use 2 batteries in rotation. I go through about 3-4 refills on the cartridge in a day. I think two batteries and at least two attys are needed for comfortable vaping if you are a heavy vaper like I am.

I started with a Joye 510 and I used it for a couple of weeks but like you I was tired of swapping all the time and refilling my carts constantly. This eGo setup with mega cylinder works quite well for a heavy vaper. IF you aren't a heavy vaper it still is a really nice setup.

It took me a while to get the feel for the carts. I load them up with a lot of juice. When I drip into the cart it usually takes around 50 drops. When I put a freshly refilled cart on the eGo I find it works best to keep the mouth piece in a down position for a while while vaping. This keeps the liquid from flooding the atomizer. After a while the eGo can be held in a horizontal position and you don't have flooding. As I keep vaping and the filler starts to get dryer I will keep the mouth piece up more to have gravity help with the wicking. This sounds complicated but it really isn't because after a while one just gets a feel for how to do this. If I were to just add 30-35 drops to my cart I wouldn't have to do this but I do like having a full cart. I fill up 4 carts in a couple of minutes and I am ready to go for a full day.

The eGo has served me very well but now I am looking into buying a bottom feed mod, one of the handmade wooden ones. Hopefully this would be my last purchase...lol.

Good luck with your vaping. It sure beats cigarettes, at least for me.

What brand of eGo did you buy? I have read that Janty developed it and everyone else just copied it. So I was going to order from Janty, BUT the Janty website is out of stock on the eGo kits for the LR (or is it Lt?) which has the 900mah batteries. But they do have good deals on the 5 pack attys and batteries that seem to beat everyone elses price. I am to the point that I am considering ordering a Joyce maxi eGo and then ordering the spare carts, attys and batteries from Janty, but not sure if the two are compatible. Does anyone know for sure if the Janty and Joyce items are compatible?
I am still too new to vaping to start thinking about mods yets, but might move up to them if the 900mah doesn't work out for me.

I believe Joyetech actually developed the eGo and the rest are just rebranding it. They are all the same unit, but some vendors offer different add-ons in the starter kit.

ImjustAVG: the mega cartridges claim to hold like 2.3 or 2.5 ml of juice but it is recommended not to put in more than 1.8 or so. I loaded mine up the first time until i saw it pooling at the top, dabbed the excess off and still flooded the atty. I like the mega cart a LOT more than the standard 510 cart though and the atomizer, when not flooded does an exceptional job.

Thanks for this information. I bought a 900mah eGo battery and I've used it with a 510 Boge cartomizer, but I've read that standard atomizers are not recommended with the larger batt. I prefer dripping with the eGo, but I've been reluctant to try an atty on the larger batt. I believe the attys I have are all low resistence, and I have a new one that is 2.5ohms (whatever that means). Would it work to use any of those with the larger eGo batt?
