As you know, I recently got my fav mod, GGTB .. I covet it !! Anyway, I was thinking "Wouldn't it be cool to have a similar tube mod (not another flashlight mod), but be barely larger than a 14500 battery and support both an 801 carto (my fav) as well as any 510 device?" (I have strange daydreams sometimes).

Here is my latest mod. As you can see, it resembles a mini version of my GG. Of course, it is completely different, it's all looks! Still looking for a name.

I started out with a 1-AA cell phone emergency charger

As you can see, it is quite a bit smaller than my GG

It consists of 3 components: an alum tube, a battery cap, and my homemade switch unit.

Here is my switch unit. It consists of a battery PCB, a tactile switch, and an 801 batty connector, all sealed into a single unit with hi-temp hot-glue. It even has a drip cup, LOL

Man, my Godzillamizer is bigger than the battery

Wow!! It works pretty good!!

I completely forgot when I posted last nite. I also have an extension tube, so this mod can use either 1 or 2 14500 batts (for 3.7 or 7.4v vaping) or, for the truly adventurous, how about 4-14250's for a 14.8v experience? LOL

Of course, you would really need a high-resistance atty or you would just burn it out. But the vapor would really rock for a second or two

NIce work Alan! I have had one of those for a while now. The only tactile switch I have, I am worried about it burning up w/o a fet. I put one on a single 18650 @ 3.7v and it burnt up the first night :( any tips? or I guess I just avoid chain vaping..... I don't like that idea tho :p

This is the first of these switches I have used. I'm with you: if I could have fitted an FET in it I sure woulda! I have no idea how long this switch will hold up, when it goes, I am gonna design a GG-type mechanical switch for it, but for now it works fine.

I know it's really low-rated for current, but have heard from others that they will hold up for quite a while at 1.5-2 amps. Since my 801 carto is about 3.2 ohms, I am figuring:

3.7v / 3.2 ohms - 1.15 amps (the same as my Janty Stick) .. I am thinking that it will probably hold up fine for a while.

Well, thats my 2 cents

this is the switch I have and am concerned about. Tactile Switch with Round actuator, 300g. I had read on a thread somewhere that if you were to solder both the input leads together and the output together, that it would help distribute the load across the switch... Thought it wouldn't hurt but it didn't help. After only 3 hours of decent vaping it got hot to the touch and after it was pressed it wouldn't release itself until I turned of the main switch. I have since tried to salvage the switch but it is cooked.
Gah! now I want to mod mine... Have a couple others to make for other ppl first tho.

Hope you have better luck with yours xD Let us know how it holds up.

I like your switch, prefer the lighter touch though (the 300g switch makes an indentation in my finger LOL) .. though I have only used it with FETs except for one very early mod. Gotta tell you, I have so many mods sitting on my end table that I rotate with that I really don't bogart any single one because I like them all.

Let's see, what do I have in there:

A little 1-AA mod that uses 14500 with MOSFET and 100g tac switch

My groovy tunes mod, 3.7v mod with working FM radio

My 5v mod with built-in 3 amp USB supply for charging other devices

Two Janty Sticks (1-V2 and 1-V3) with 801 cartos

Two Touch Light Sabres (V1 and V2), each with Godzillamizers (V1 and V2)

And, of course, The "Mini G" configured for 3.7v

Eight mods on my table. I guess I must be a "mod junkie"!!!!!!

Nice Alan, do you leave that bowl out on the coffee table for your guests to try out?

Good one, since we are on the gg thing and you now have a tb. I made a tube mod with brass 3/4- 4 inch nipple and caps from the depot.I used a horn switch but want to make a mechanical switch like the gg, the top cap is easy done just don't know quite how to make the switch and spring part for myself with the parts around town, if anyone can I know u can do this. Let me know if you get around to making a poormans ggtb. Thanks and once again great work..bhb
