So...I got ...... off at the evercool...my theory is bad chip since I quadruple checked everything and it just would not fire. I ripped apart my 5v feeder box that I was not using as a feeder and put the guts in the cool ebay dual 18650 box. So now I'm running 5v regulated with dual 18650s. Recessed the atty connector...Works good with 3ohm CE2 XLs and DCs...have not tried yet but I imagine a reg atty would leave just my drip tip stickin out. Over 28 hours and about 6-7ml so far on batts and they are real close to 8v still though :) ...ehh...just sharing. Later all.

Oh boy, that sounds nice. I wish I had the technical savvy to dink around with my stuff

With the extreme detail of some of the Tutorials on the forums here, you CAN'T (hardly) go wrong. Some ppl give multiple shots of every step! Thats very helpful starting out with ZERO experience like I did. I am not real good but getting better, and noticable faster.

OT: Looks nice and clean! Too bad the evercool didn't work out for you. I like the recessed atty connector with this especially. Thats a pretty big box, would be pushin' a foot with the atty on the outside! lol I just got my 2 free samples from TI today, so I will be attempting something like your original design here soon! Hope I have better luck xD

Nice W.G. yes you did good. Sound really impressive.

I had a similar situation the other day, 08100w stopped working. Pulled it apart and trouble shot it for 2 days. Found that the Atty insulator was crushed and caused the positive atty center pin to ground out to the base. Rebuilt the atty insulator and all is well.
I learned a lesson. Never tighten the atty too tight. Just screw in until it just makes contact to the center pos pin. Those rubber/fiber insulators will flatten down after repeated screwing and unscrewing.
