Congratulations! Sounds like a lot of fun.:)

Check back in after the class and let us know how it goes. I would be really interested in knowing how good a job they do regarding educating people on battery safety (ohm's law, amp draw, etc).

Will do! I'm personally not interested in even trying to learn to build any low-ohm coils, as my iStick won't fire anything under 1 ohm.

That does sound fun I have built a few coils but would go to a class if the B&M near me offered them, if nothing else would get a chance to hang out with some fellow vapers. Have fun!

It is indeed a cool opportunity to hang out with other vapers. This shop does a very good job of creating a nice casual, friendly environment. It's a cool place to hang even if there isn't a special event going on. In fact, this would be a good time to praise World of Vapor on the East side of Indy for creating such a cool shop!

Well, I gotta say, I was pretty darn impressed with this event. They had about eight of us. And, in addition to the main teacher, there were three other experienced builders on hand to help people out. So everybody got very detailed attention. Not only did they take care to explain all the safety issues, including stuff that one might forget to mention because it's too obvious to say (don't drip while driving), but the staff was very knowledgeable about the various peculiarities of the various devises that people had. My little Eleaf Istick won't fire below one ohm. They knew that without me having to tell them. So, the $25 got you a Igo-W (a perfectly functional first dripper, from what I understand) and the teaching. Afterwards, they brought in pizza and everybody sat around and chatted and dripped. Oh, and if you wanted a different atty, they would apply $10 toward that. So, if you didn't want the Igo, you could get a Kayfun or Vulcan or Magma, you could get that instead for the difference in price. Actually, I do want a Magma, but I'll just get one later. I still don't mind having an Igo to practice with.

Overall, a very nice job. Well done, World of Vapor Indy!

Oh, and I didn't talk about my first experience with dripping. Wow, now this takes flavor to a whole different level! Flavors that I was used to in my little clearomizers really came to life in the dripper. Chronos (Omega) for example, just tasted like a nice vanilla vape in a T3. But dripping it, I can also taste the white chocolate and possibly even some creme mixed in there. The Sunset Cavendish (Hurricane Vapors) is one of my other favs. It's a very, very mild tobacco with caramel top note. Honestly, though, the tobacco was such a mild tobacco flavor that I never did really taste the tobacco before. Now, you can tell that there is definitely a very nice, mild tobacco running underneath the caramel. These are still favorite flavors that I like in either a tank or a dripper, but they are a thousand times better in the dripper. Awesome!

I should also mention that one of the crew had a dremel on hand. I can see why the air holes on the Igo-W need to be drilled out to really work. It was helpful to make sure that somebody could help with getting it set up properly for one's preferences.

That's pretty cool! $25 for all you've mentioned sounds pretty reasonable. My local B&M has the tasting bar, but not anything serious related to building (at least the location closest to my home.) I popped in there the other day with some questions, and the gent behind the counter was the mixologist, and not very well versed on building/wicking.

They have plenty of seating, but I don't think I will get to learn much from them directly :( Glad you enjoyed. Vape on :vapor:

Sorry your local shop isn't helpful about this. There are several that I go to and these guys really have a good thing going.

I think it was a good deal too. And I really think it was a win-win for them as well as for us. I know that I picked up a couple of bottles of juice and some Japanese cotton. I don't think anybody else who attended the class left without stopping to shop for some things as well.

That sounds like a great time!

As for the Igo-W; don't let the price fool you, it's a great little dripper. That was my first RDA also and served me well. The air draw is a bit tight but easily fixed by opening it up with the next larger drill bit size. I used mine for several months before I "payed it forward" and gave it to the guy that got me started into vapeing.

I went from the standard clearo set up he gave me to a mech/dripper within the first month. He and his wife had already been vapeing with Kanger T3S's for 2 years and he had never tried dripping. I stopped by one day and let him try my Magnetto with the Igo-W and he liked it so much I had to give it to him :) (which obviously left me having to get something better, darn :))

What is a B&M, a Brick and Mortar store, or a chain? In any case, I'm a newbie with an ego-t and clearos, I was really interested to see the guy at my local vape shop showing another customer how to build a coil for an RBA (or RDA? I dunno) setup they were buying. I'm kinda debating buying some kanthal and trying to wrap new coils for my clearos, just to save a few bucks.
