My opinion on how to vape on a budget. (Especially if you were a smoker.)

i have settled down these days to a couple batteries, itaste vv/vw 3.0 and ego mini. A couple tanks, Pro tank and a couple evods and that is it. I use the mini at the ballpark and places you dont want to be seen. I use the Itaste and Protank everywhere else. I bought some extra coils a few months back. 3 bottles of cinnamon juse and i have not bought anything for a long time. I will buy some juice, but that is about it. I just decided i wanted it simple. if i use same juice and battery i dont have to change it out very often. Simple is cheap, and that is good.

1) A good mechanical mod. Keep it simple. A good quality mechanical mod with quality parts should last a indefinite amount of time. If you want a little control, look into getting a kicker. Variable voltage Mods have electrical boards can fry making the mod useless unless you have the skills to bypass the board and make it a mechanical Mod.

Interesting thread, but I'm not sure I agree with this. Sure, a mechanical battery holder is great if you're rebuilding coils and don't want it to turn off every time you create a short. Or if you just really love the looks of a particular model. Otherwise, I'd never suggest getting one for the simple fact that it's a HUGE downgrade from VV/VW models. No control over power without a kick which totally blows the whole vaping on a budget thing. The kick alone costs more than a twist. But more importantly, you lose things like short circuit protection, low voltage cutoff, and overcurrent protection. Adding the kick isn't much better, as you've got to take it apart to adjust it. Mechs are cool, but as far as usefulness goes they're more of a specialized toy. When vaping on a budget, something like the Vamo is hard to beat. Or even a spinner. But not a mech...

As others have said - DIY and rebuilding are HUGE money-savers. Especially DIY ejuice - it's so cheap I actually have no idea what I'm spending, lol. I bought a liter of 100mg nic back in Feb for right around $130 . .have barely made a dent in it. PG is super cheap, too . .something like $10 per liter delivered (i have Amazon prime so it costs a little bit more at Amazon - but free shipping). I suck at DIY so I mostly vape unflavored (which I've really come to enjoy) . .so it's even cheaper!

Rebuilding is pretty nice, too. I would probably spend around $250 per year on atties, replacement heads, etc . .and I can rebuild for less than $50 . .probably much less if I just used one kind of wick and wire and didn't play around with builds so much.

Of course . .I personally use up the savings buying extra mods and atties that I don't really need. I guess I experienced it to a degree with analogs . .I would occassionally spring for Nat Shermans or something . .but with vaping, there's so much stuff out there that I just experiment so much more.

I agree with this . .if I were going to be a budget vapor and not wanting to tinker with stuff . .I would go for ego-twist and get some kind of clearo - like mini nova or evod, etc . .and either just use the $2 replacement heads (they last several weeks) or learn to build 2ohm coils. When you start to tinker, you start to spend.

You'd be hard pressed to get a carton of name brand under $70 around here.

I have more than enough DIY supplies for juice to go the next year. If I didn't want to spend anything, I could EASILY vape for the next year for the cost of a replacement battery or two and some coil material or even pre made coils. If I tossed an evod or nova coil each week for $2 I'd spend as much vaping for two weeks as a day of smoking would cost.

Butzezes are going up $1.00 a pack here - yet another :censored::censored::censored: tax hike. That means even those lousy bottom feeder taste like poop cigarettes will be nearly $9.00 a pack. You takes your motivation to switch wherever you find it, but if saving money is ever going to be the motivator well, Commonwealth of mAssachusetts - thanks for all the help...

Rebuilding? I will get around to it. In the mean time I'm getting a T3 or ProTank coil to last for up to 5 weeks with cleaning. Considering I'm buying replacement coils for $1.99-ish each - lasting 5 weeks - I can live with that.
