My Plea

I have received numerous PM's over the past couple of days, and most of the time I like to stay out of personal disputes here. We try to maintain this space as a place for people to come, chat about vaping, have fun, and support one another. Over the last few days, there has been more hostility than usual, and certain members feel like they have been wronged. Now we have rainbows and sunshine all over the place. I am posting this to see if we can all reach some kind of truce, and get this place back to what it should be. The last thing I want to do is close more threads, or god forbid, start banning important members of this community. So please, let's all have a vape, and get this place cleaned up.

People can be banned for being too nice? Is that in the rules somewhere or will it be added in arrears? And who decides who's too nice?

You know darn well that I don't want to ban anyone. But we don't have rules on who we can and cannot ban. I just don't want to have to be a baby-sitter here.

I understand that not everybody has to agree with me, but there's no reason to be so abusive about it. So I've decided to be less helpful and informative, and to just enjoy my time here instead.

Believe me Darr, I definitely appreciate your contributions here. There will always be fights on internet forums. I think you guys have made your point now. Like I said, I just don't have the time or inclination to play baby-sitter here, that's why I'm respectfully asking you to tone it down. That's all.

I agree with you Mark!!! I personally don't enjoy rude posts, which has kept me from interacting on this forum for quite sometime. Treat others as you would like to be treated, as the saying goes.

I haven't been here for long, but I sense that some people here have nicotine-deficient stressful moments where vaping doesn't quite compare to smoking an analog when they need cooling down (for example some people are used to relying on the head-spin effect of carbon monoxide which vaping doesn't provide). Keeping a few strong 24mg or 36mg carts aside for those stressful moments should minimize or neutralize the impact.

Thanks for reminding everyone of this forum's purpose....there are other forums on ECF like the Lounge and Outside available for non-V4L banter.

There are vaping forums with no rules. They are pretty much a free-for-all but not all that conducive to any serious help. I choose not to participate in those other forums for that reason.

In this case, some decorum is a good thing.

Me, too. It's easy, especially for us longer-timers, to forget how much the newer folks here need some support. I know I did. Quitting cigs wasn't easy, but the forum's good advice and kind words certainly eased my way.

I really appreciate all the great help from "most" of the legacy members here, but the sarcasm and "I'm better than thou" BS has to stop IMHO.

Don't tell us to stop complaining of bad treatment by "the gruff information gurus that we all love". You may love gruff, and that's your personal personal business. Many of us prefer helpful and kind.
