My poor Vornado dongle

Looks like my dongle has bit the dust. I was afraid something like this was going to happen. It appears to be a problem with the wire where it enters the dongle. They should have added some kind of strain relief. Has anyone taken one of these apart yet? Guess I'll see if it can be revived.

I don't have one of the GV pass-throughs, but it's recommended to use tape to reinforce where the cord enters the pass-through. I've done it with other ones and it works like a charm.

That's the weak point of most passthroughs, unfortunately. I have to resolder the wires in my Piper once a week or so, and I've completely rewired it once. At some point I plan to replace the external wire with one from an old 808 PT that does have a good strain-relief, and that should help quite a bit.

I don't have the Vornado so I've no idea how hard it would be to get apart. On the Piper, the switch/connection assembly pulls out of the tube fairly easily with a little encouragement.
