My REO came today!!! One (silly) problem...

Yeeeeehaaaawwwww! I was gonna wait until I had it built and everything to make a thread, but I have one small problem...

I can't get the RM2 open.

I can see the threads when I look in through the top...but not anywhere on the outside. I've tried holding it a few different ways but it won't unscrew. Don't really wanna take pliers to it already...plus it's brass.

Try putting it in the freezer for about 5 minutes or a little longer. That might work.

And if you have one of those rubber things that you use to open jars, that might work as well.

It will get the steel/brass to contract. It probably is hot from being in the hot mail.

I had the same prob with my RM2 when it arrived and I found out the bottom of a mouse pad works great. It's got that skid proof kind of texture to it.

When you do get it open remember... When you put it back on the Reo put the deck on first nice and tight, THEN screw the top cap on. That way you don't overtighten the cap if you put it back on as a whole unit. (That's what I do anyway)

Success! Had to use pliers...but minimal scratching occurred. Now I shall build this baby and post more pics and thoughts! Thanks!

I recently had a problem with an atty and tried the freezer thing. It seems to help but getting a good grip with rubber bands (suggested by a forum member) really helped me. Rubber gloves as mentioned might work. Bummer, wishing you success!!!

That's great news!!! Another member suggested a small amound petroleum jelly to avoid these issues. I'm going to buy some tomorrow. Congrats on your new Reos!!!

I've had some trouble opening mine.. Yep use rubber to try to unscrew it. Do you have one of those rubber jar openers? The rubber band suggestion should work well too. I wrap my fitband around it to unscrew it... easy since it's always on my wrist.

+1 on the rubber jar openers, they work great for getting stubborn top caps off. I've also found that kleenex work pretty well in a pinch.

If you do need to ever loosen the cap again (and don't find any luck with the various rubber techniques), needle nosed pliars gripping the connection post above the thread (at the bottom of the base) will work, and not damage your threads.

Poor lighting where I'm at right now for build pics and such but my oh my am I having a good time!

I prefer a cooler vape and built a 1.93 ohm coil my first time around and it was a dream!!! Flavor and production were great and everything was just smooth as silk. Out of exciment I've already built 3 different coils on my RM2 tonight. The 1.93, a .98 and now vaping on a 1.85. Been experimenting with a few different gauges...I think I like 8 wraps on a 2mm bit (all I have) with 30ga (the first build I did).

I have to commend the build quality on all of my newly received Reosmods products. Everything is just immaculate. I went to grab a pizza and a few odds and ends and nobody knew what it was but everybody commented on how "classy" it looks. Loving the white and gold!

I must say, just a few hours in and I'm sold. I will be squonking away happily for the foreseeable future thanks to ECF and of course Rob!
