Congrats on the new mod I think starting with silica wick is the way to go for new guys . Not so easy to burn

I have silica, but that would be too easy. I think the switch is messed up in this one so I'll be ordering a repair kit from you soon. It looks like someone cut the tip off of this one.

If you can post a pic of the tip so we can see it, we can tell if it's been "modified". If you didn't buy it new, you probably want to do a rebuild anyway, just to get the upgraded contacts. They give you less voltage drop, and don't require as much maintenance as the "old" (silver colored) contacts. The rebuild kit also includes a more heat resistant firing button, which, if you're vaping low ohms, you would want anyway.

Congrats on the Reo!

I don't do sub ohms, but I'm planing on getting the kit anyway. I like overkill on that sort of thing anyway. Lots of extra headroom.

I like the way you think. The new contacts will cut your voltage drop by half on a 1 ohm build plus it's a great feeling knowing those electrons are dancing through gold plated beryllium copper.

Welcome to the tribe.

You'll get the hang of squonking in no time.

Try taking the dt off the atty and looking through the hole when you squonk. What you're looking for is the juice to pool up and saturate the wicking, which you should see through the top hole. This ensures you've got enough juice for vaping plus it teaches you how hard to squeeze and for how long. You'll notice that how much pressure and duration you need varies as the juice bottle gets lower, and once you've got a feel for all that, you'll be squonking purely by touch in no time.

I've been doing that now after replacing a couple of wicks. It might be my imagination, but the butchers twine seems to be a little more forgiving. The cotton balls I usually use go fast, but I like them. If I burn another one I just use silica awhile.

The flavor on this thing is awesome. I didn't realize my juice was that good. I was using a Smok PBC. It may not have been so drastic if I had been going from a dripper. I haven't dripped since 2010. Getting a drip tip for your Joyetech 501 and dripping into the atomizer was the big thing. As you know, I'm sure, there was a reason they were called drip tips back then.

Welcome to Reoville! Congratz on your REO!
A little Noalox on the firing contact will help you out. Also check the firing contact for any build-up, If there is some you can take a file and get it off.

Make sure you don't push the button too hard. Hold the REO to your ear and press it lightly. When it fires you know that is as hard as you have to press.

Enjoy the REO way of vaping!
