I think my Reomizer has broken after 2 months of use.... =(

I noticed that the seal in between the threads and the post have come loose and is leaning off towards one side. I can't get a steady read on my coils because of this. It keeps jumping from 1.6 - 2.5 ohms and I'm using 30 kg wires with ONLY 4 loops! I was hitting 1.65 with 5 loops earlier but now it's all over the place. I'm so sad and I don't know what to do.... I think I might look into the Chalice even though it is so expensive.. BUT THEYRE ALL OUT OF STOCK NOOOO...

Are there any other really good RBAs besides the Reomizer that are really good? I really like the Reomizer but it does seem cheaply made (Not blaming Rob or anything... I hear they're from China anyways) and easily breakable. Going to keep trying to see if I can make a good coil but if theres anyone who can help me that would be great!

That is some bad news to hear. I don't want to imagine what it is like to go back to a standard atty or carto. Out of curiosity did you remove the Reomizer completely while installing new coils? Or did you leave the base on and only remove the cap? I am asking, so I can have an ideal about what longevity to expect.

May your mail arrive sooner than expected.

I usually have the base attached to my Ohm Meter and build the coil on it... then I screw the top cap on and THEN remove the atomizer and put it back onto my Grand. I think I messed up the posts or something when I pull the coil legs through the holes. I've been a little rough on them and could be the reason why it's not working properly.

I'm a little worried about the whole voiding the warranty and I've read that it is prone to shorting the Grand.... I checked the site and it DID say that the new 1.5 versions have a shorter connection to fit the Reos better. I really want to get a chalice but since they're sold out I might just go ahead and buy this one as long as I don't have to worry about the shorts. Anyone with experience?

I'll definitely try that Rob! The problems DEFINITELY started after I got the new O rings and pulled out the connector... I hope that I can get it back running because I'm using a Cisco 306LR 1.8 and it's making me so sad lol. I've been so spoiled by RBAs! I put an order for a Hornet already and even if I get the Reomizer back up and running it'll be nice to have a new RBA to play with. In the mean time I hope I can fix the Reomizer and use that until my Hornet arrives. Now I'm patiently waiting for the Chalice to come back in stock.

For the time being, screw the center pin back in, go back to the thinner O-ring, and carry a Kleenex to catch any over-squonking juice...at least until the Hornet gets there.....otherwise, it's going to be a long week. :)

LOL yeah I actually screwed the connector all the way back in and slapped on a coil. I was actually able to get it to a 1.45-1.5 and then I pulled the connector back out a little bit (enough to fire on the Grand) and its back to normal! Oh my goodness I was vaping on the 306s for the last few hours and it was just driving my CRAZY. I was getting plumes of vapor but the flavor was lacking so much. I wasn't getting that nice 'clean' taste that I've been so use to these days.

Jan I remember you mentioning that you used 4 strands of the DMC... Did you mean that you ONLY had 4 individual strands go through the coil or do you fold them which becomes 8 total strands?? I've been normally folding 2 strands 3 times to get I think 8 strands and my coils were a little bigger. I made a smaller coil and just threaded 4 individual strands of the cotton through and it seems to working perfectly fine. Not sure what the rule of thumb is on the amount of wick... some say more is good and others say less is better. I'm looking at it right now and it looks like the coil is actually NOT touching all of the wick (because there isn't enough wick...) BUT it's still vaping really well. I'm not sure if it's because I was using the 306s but I feel like the 4 strands is actually tasting much more cleaner than using the 8 strands with bigger coils like I was doing before.

Thats a bummer .... I wasn't too happy with the hornet and I'm passing it on to a great person. But most people love them.

You would be super duper happy with the Chalice IMHO .... the only complaint I've heard in 5 months since it came out is the price .... I have a second one on the way though. They might not come around again for many months though .... thats what happened last time.

Cloud 9 vaping might have some left ? The did a week ago. If you order from them you would get it about 3 weeks quicker than from Romania (or where ever Mark Bugs is) so thats a plus .... it might be a few bucks more though.

Never owned an ERA or A7 so can't say much about them. Honestly If I was still using REOs exclusivly I would have gotten 2 more Chalice attys .... they are that great !! But It embarrasses me to say that my REO usage is below 50% lately. Kinda feels like I'm sleeping around these days :)

The REOmizer worked great but I took advantage of the low cost and gave away both of mine to some friends that have REOs.
They are going through some tough times so I'm glad I could find a way to save them some money. Nothing like making a new atty for 10 cents instead of 10 bucks.

Hope you get it working again until your hornet arrives. If I had to go back to disposable attys it would suck big time.

Matt, I mean I usually only have 4 strands going through the coil (two strings folded once) and it works for me. I sorta work from the premise that "less is more" because the cotton swells and when I was using more strands, I think the the coil was choking the wick and cutting off some of the juice-flow. I don't know....it's all just experimentation. I can't tell.....maybe I'm having to squonk a little more often with the four strands??? I get so used to doing it, I forget to pay attention. With fewer strands, I can make the coil smaller, and use an extra wrap and still keep it really low resistance.

Glad you got it back up and running, at least until the Hornet comes in.

Tim is absolutely right....the Chalice is the cream of the crop of RBAs....and I would have about 4 of them if money were no object, and if they weren't so darn hard to get. I use my Chalice most of all....but my ERA and my Hornet are both good...no problems with tight caps or anything. They work like they're supposed to and I've never had any problem with either of them.
