My experience with MaxxFusion and with Bloog.

My history and why I chose bloog.
I’m relatively new to vaping. Though it feels like I’ve been doing it forever I realize that there’s still so much I don’t know and I’m just finding my personal perfect vape or ‘sweet spot’. I started with a very bad brand of kr808d-1. I had no idea how to fill the cartomizers, I just kept making a mess, the vapor production was horrible, and I burnt out both batteries the kit came with trying to figure it out.

Figuring it was cartomizers that suck and not realizing it was just that I was using really badly made carto’s I went on the hunt for something better, and found 510, egos, Rivas and the ego-tank system. I love the vapor on them, but not the trouble of maintain the atty’s. I wanted something easier that didn’t require maintenance and starting thinking back to the cartomizers. Cartomizer equaled disposable atty. Maybe I should give it another shot now that I had been here at ecf and would be able to figure it out this time. SO, I started doing some research on which cartomizers that people were loving and having great luck with… and so my bloog experience began….

I heard great things about bloog 2 weeks ago…. What got me was a few comments I heard that taking a puff of the bloog mf was different since you could puff it more like a cigarette, a short puff no extremely long drags. Besides looking for something for myself I was birthday shopping for a friend who had tried a puff of one of mine and wanted to convert. I didn’t want them to have all the frustrations I did when starting trying to fill carts, adjusting wicks on tanks, etc. The maxx fusion sounded like it fit the bill perfectly.

My purchase experience.

I would also like to point out, that the kits are priced higher than if you were to piece it together yourself. I cannot believe that this is a mistake. It's not hard to add 4 items that total less than 100 bucks so how could it be? As I look back and remember my gut instinct that this wasn't right, I regret not listening to that little voice in my head saying... They're purposely over pricing something here clearly, and that's just like smoke51 did and it was all bull.....

I must admit I was pretty disappointed to get to their website and find they don’t have anything I wanted in stock. His birthday party was happening in like 10 days so I headed here to ecf to inquire about restocking.

I found the bloog restock thread. On Feb 10th nyc stated that all 65mm batteries would be in stock in all colors by the end of February. On feb 21 she said all 65mm colored batteries were “on the presses as I type” and would be on the site by the beginning of the next week (about 6 days) and that the rest of all their stock should be in within 2 weeks.

Hmm it was feb 26th so I decided to wait a few days…. March 1st… Nope still nothing in. No mini’s and I really didn’t want to get him a standard. He would not like the length at this point. No new posts in the stock update threads either. I email them and get a response that they are out of stock due to Chinese new year and still don’t know when to expect them. So I figure I will have to find a different cigarette for his gift, even though he heard about this one by now and wanted it. But I was so excited by all the hype I heard about the carto’s I decided to order myself just one 78mm battery and one pack of carto’s. I went ahead and ordered a red standard batt and a pack of ry4 cartos.

Two days later, march 3rd I see that the stock update thread has a post that says mini white and black batteries are in! Yay, but darn I already placed an order for a 78 and it’s not going to fit in the pcc. (I wouldn’t consider a batter under 320mah without a pcc). So I quickly emailed bloog, and asked if I ordered right now could I combine orders to save shipping and can I change my red 78 batt to a black 65 please?

I got a response later that day saying my order had not been shipped, I could order more and combine orders, but mini batteries were not in yet. I emailed back that I read on their update thread that they had come in but since they really hadn’t go ahead and ship my standard.

The next day I saw them on the website. So I went on and ordered 3 mini’s, 2 pcc’s, and a 25 pack of red cartomizers. I figured those would taste most like marl red which he smoked, though I know nothing really does taste like a real cigarette. I went back to my email, and replied to Chris that I found them on the site and ordered 3, that I would like to swap out the standard I had ordered for a 4th mini and thank you very much!

I also sent a pm here to nyc to see if she could help make sure my order was swapped out somehow because I knew my 1st order could be shipped that day since I had said go ahead with shipment since you are not restocked on minis! I got a response she would look into it and later an email from Chris saying it was all set.
I ordered around noon and had a shipment confirmation by 4, very nice.

I got my package on the 7th.

My excitement when I got the package quickly turned to disappointment when I opened the package and the first item I took out was a pcc. It literally has the look and feel of one of those dollar store children’s toy phones that come from china. You know like all the cheap blister pack toys they have at cvs’s and Walgreens? I couldn’t believe it because for 1, it cost 35 which is 10 more that all the other kr8 pcc’s I had been looking at, and two because I saw a video of it with grimm green and he said it was great and it did NOT look cheap in the video.

I put the phone battery into it which didn’t even fit in it tight, it was loose and could move around a little. The battery cover doesn’t really stay on and comes off when I slide it open the case if I’m not careful. At this point I’m hoping the battery cover is defective in some way and that it’s supposed to fit better, so I open up the second pcc. While the battery itself fits in a little tighter on this the battery cover just kind of loosely sits on there just like the other one. This case cannot possibly cost more than a couple dollars to manufacture there in china.

Next I plug in both the pcc’s to usb/wall adapters (one from bloog, one I own from my first kr8), and they start charging. Because no instructions come with the unit, which when operating the unit does require specific knowledge like you have to press a button three times to turn it to charge you’d THINK they would include them??? But I found it online, and by the time I did and knew what bar meant what, one charger indicated that it was full and ready to go. So I unplugged it and popped in a battery to charge.

Meanwhile the other charger is still reading that’s its charging… I charged all 4 batteries on the first pcc. The pcc itself lasted long enough to charge them all but some batteries only took a few minutes, while one took over an hour. The second pcc never finished charging. I un-plugged it thinking maybe it was just the indicator that wasn’t working, but as soon as I unplugged it, it went completely dead. I plugged in and figured I’d use up a battery and see if it would charge the battery while plugged in at least.

The carto’s and batteries. The batteries are nothing special as far as appearance. I opened up a red carto. I had 5 packs of these and 1 of ry4 so I figured I’d give 3 red packs and the ry4 with the gift. I was really disappointed I had not been able to order blanks since I ordered him a bunch of juice from different places, but I figured he could refill tobacco flavor cartos with chocolates, caramels, apples etc that would match ok until the blanks were in stock. Not idea but doable.

At the first puff I swear my face probably turned green. I cannot describe the taste other than to say the most off tasting, strongest peanut flavor ever. It is disgusting. I know you can’t get the flavor of a cigarette but since when did Marlboro reds taste like peanuts? Never mind really gross strong peanuts. This is coming from someone who always always needs triple flavor in their juice because of dead taste buds!!!!

It was just horrible and though tastes are different I knew he would not like this at all. And I didn’t want to turn him off to vaping thinking it’s all like this. I opened the ry4. I’m not a ry4 person, but it wasn’t bad. Meaning not my flavor but a good ry4. Unfortunately I had only got 1 pkg of ry4 and 25 red. Now this isn’t in any way bloogs fault. I ordered them. I should have went with another companies cartos so I could get blank, but from what I had read the whole reason the bloog was so good was because of the cartos and I really thought red would have been a generic smoky tobacco flavor. I couldn’t give him an open pack of ry4 with a bunch of unvapable cartos. I already know they don’t take them back and I didn’t have time anyway only being 4 days from his party.

I had learned about how to clean carto’s on ecf and so decided to give it a shot with 15 of the reds. What did I have to lose? I figured if I could get the red juice out they’d be empty and he could use the juice. I flushed all the cartos with warm water, using a turkey baster with gen pen grip, and followed that with a soak in vodka. After a rinse I could still overwhelmingly smell peanuts from the cartos. Knowing vinegar to be a natural order absorber/cleaner whatever, I soaked all the cartos in vinegar for an hour, flushed with warm water to rinse all the vinegar out, then dried in a 170 oven for an hour or so. Then I let the cartos sit for 24 hours to make sure they were completely dried out.

I filled one up with chocolate juice and vaped. Not bad at all. No peanut taste, the vapor was very warm, like a hot steam which was kind of weird but I had huge clouds of vapor.
I happily log on to ecf to report my bloog mf is awesome, which at that moment with that flavor, it indeed was albeit the odd hot vapor.

However, near after about an hour of vaping the peanut taste re-appeared, must be as the carto started to get dry. Again not a mf problem and I figured as a new kr8 user it wouldn’t be bad as when he started to taste peanuts he’d know it would be time to change cartos or refill. Lol

I filled up a second carto. This one with the same juice had not even half the vapor and the vapor was so hot. More like steam than vapor. Some may enjoy this but I’m finding I really don’t like it. I like thick vapor but not hot and wet. I don’t know why this carto would work right. It was not over/under filled. It was not clogged. It was dry when I filled it. SO moved on to another carto with banana juice 30% vg to help kick up the vapor. Again, not much vapor and I must say more horrible tasting than the peanuts!!! You cannot vape fruit flavors HOT. It’s so gross. I tried another carto, another fruit again gross, but good vapor on that carto. Another with caramel not bad, but really hating the hot really wet vapor at this point.

Out of the 15 cartos I cleaned only 6 produced good vapor after. Which is my problem. Maybe they’re not mean to be cleaned, though I didn’t boil them or use hot water or isp alcohol or anything damaging. They were completely dry. I have the 6 and they are just sitting there. I cannot vape them. I really dislike the hot steam and cannot even accurately describe it. Maybe this is what some are looking for but it makes all my flavors taste gross and just isn’t for me. My maxx fusion sat there unusable to me until I got cartos in from another supplier.

As far as the gift. I included the 4 ry4’s I had and a 5 pack of reds along with a shipping receipt for blank cartos and a pcc from another supplier. I am embarrassed to put in the pcc because its sooo cheap it really makes my gift look cheap, and you know it won’t last long at all. One drop on a carpeted floor and it’s junk. I’m sure it’ll be history after just a couple weeks of normal use.

I contact bloog and after a few emails and a couple of days, they sent out a usb/wall charger for me to use and refunded the difference in price between the two upon return of the pcc. Actually the credit did already go through even though they haven’t received the pcc. So good service there on taking back their defective product. Too bad I didn’t have time to send back the other one for a refund also.

During the time since I received my order on march 7th, bloog communication on ecf has vanished. Literally not a word in what 6 days now? And LOTS of customers really worried and asking questions in the bloog thread about the disappearance and STILL not a word from them. The batteries supposedly came in last week and would be on the site shortly. Yet, like 8 days later now they are still not on the site, the site has not been updated AT ALL. The thread has not been updated or responded to, customers questions and concerns have not been responded to……

I had included a little info sheet in his kit to reorder parts. I took it out and replaced it with info on the other supplier I found and included a note that though he’s got bloog batteries and a few carto’s. A new pcc and blank cartos are on their way, and bloog has proved to be a disappointment to myself and a serious issue to others and that their stocking problems are so extreme that I would not recommend ordering from them.

Also I would like to say as a real internet shopping addict. I’ve not had any issues with other companies who get their products from china or from suppliers I have in china directly because of Chinese new year. Bloog, according to the post I researched started back in early jan stating “delays Chinese new year….. Blah blah blah”. It’s now march 12. Chinese new year? REALLY? And of course leaford might say it’s his laptop that crashed. It’s been their reason for lack of communications twice within the last 5 months……. Like you can’t get access to the internet in today’s word if your computer crashes. What kind of company are we buying from where the main guy is cut off from the www when his computer crashes? Why no answers?
I don’t really know. I don’t really care. As I stated in a previous thread:

If bloog was a company I had been dealing with for years, or even months and something happened to cause the stock delays and lack of communication I would most probably remain a loyal customer. BUT I am not a loyal bloog customer, I am a new customer. My service wasn’t’ horrible but it wasn’t great either. I found another supplier on ecf who I feel has a comparable product, a better pcc’s, better prices (slightly) and so far AMAZING customer services.

Why would I choose bloog over them? I don’t have history with bloog to support me being patient or giving them a break. They never earned that right with me, which comes after a few purchases with exceptional customer service.
Over 200 spent and all I have usable is 4 batteries and two usb/wall chargers and pcc that won’t last more than a month? =( My bloog cartos, 9 left unopened are up for trade if anyone wants.
I must say I was not wooed by bloog and there will be no second date… I’ll be moving on….

[EDIT BY LEAFORD] Please see Dawn's follow up review here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-importantly-company-bloog-8.html#post2868252
"Ok, Customer service... Yeah Bloog needs a LOT of work in that department. I think they get like a 5. Just my opinion here and realize I'm not saying they don't have a reason, like I said before and I still feel that I don't care as a new customer what their reasons are.... BUT I will continue ordering from them. The BMF is that good that I'll deal with the lower quality of service! I never thought I'd feel that way about a product, e-cigarettes or other items, but here I am, bowing my head in submission...... "

Yeah, I think I said all I needed to about that situation above! If the head honcho CAN'T GET ON THE INTERNET, what kind of company are you dealing with????

BYE bye blooooooog

PS The computer crashed excuse only works once or twice, well no not really at all in this day and age, but still time to get a new one. How about mono or something? that would buy a couple weeks at least?

Dawn,
I am starting to agree with you wholeheartedly and I have not even received my order yet. Its not delayed really as of yet but the no communication is killing me. 5 emails and a dozen phone calls (only 1 message left) all trying to ask the same question and not a single response.

Now we have apparently a head of CS in Chris that I have emailed personally and got no where and 2 other CS's that are new and being trained. In what? How to type? Im shocked by all of this, but like I said in my initial post here, the tolerance threshold by some in this "niche" market is astounding. Could you imagine if you were waiting for a response for a week from your cable or satellite provider? Or how about if your cell phone stopped working? And the response from other consumers was "have patience, they are training new people".

I am also a new customer of theirs and when the items arrive I look forward to testing them. But the level of competence in service is down right scary. I appreciate your honesty and look forward to hearing more.

Dawn, thanks for your comments.

You are absolutely right, it was unprofessional of me to allow my computer problems to interfere with my forum duties.

My computer problems are my own fault, not Bloog's, and for the record, I am not the "head honcho." If I were the head honcho I wouold have insisted on a company supplied computer instead of trying to manage with my own resources.

When I started this job I had a 5-year old laptop that had been lying on a shelf for over 2 years since it had crashed and I hadn't gotten around to getting it fixed. I had it fixed when I got here to China, but it kept crashing again because the real source of the problem was a defective motherboard which they couldn't replace, so all I was doing was fixing the componants the motherboard corrupted.

So I decided to buy something new. But I couldn't really afford anything. So, I cheaped out and bought a couple mini-PCs, one notebook and one tablet, from a manufacturers' wholesale market. I could afford the wholesale prices, and figured if one crashed, I'd still have the other. Bad move, since they both started crashing within a couple weeks with the same problem, hard drive failures.

For a while I was going back and forth between them, one would recover while the other was crashed. But first the notebook crashed for good, then the other week the tablet PC followed it. And you know the rest of the story.

As for "cannot get on the internet in this day and age," well, this is China. There aren't internet cafes on every block. None at all here in Shajing.

But in the end, you are right, none of this matters to the customer, nor should it. I am sorry, and you are right, I should have solved it faster.

I'm also sorry you don't like our Red flavor, but taste is a funny thing. Red is our most popular flavor, and we've had many people rant about loving it here on the forum. But no flavor is ever universally liked.

And I'm sorry about your defective PCC. We've had a very low failure rate on those, but it does happen. Glad to hear you were taken care of. But you shouldn't worry about the other being easily damaged. I drop mine all the time on a hard marble floor. The batt gets knocked out of it, but that's all. A couple others can also attest they've dropped theirs without damage. Sorry you think it looks cheap, but it is more durable than you fear.

Well Dawn, I saw your post in the other forum. A few snarky remarks about Bloog, which really wasn't necessary in context of describing your current order with that other vendor, but oh well....not everyone has good manners.

I'd be real interested in hearing your honest review of that product as well. Their CS is second to none (Bloog could learn from them). But the product is average, I've gotten bland and non-working cartos there too. The batteries are nice but don't last quite as long. The PCC has a more solid feel, but only sort of works most of the time. I'd prefer that it always works all of the time.

So, nothing is perfect -- hope you aren't looking for the perfection over there that you didn't find here. But the people are nice.

I wasn't snarky about my remarks I was quite frank. I regret ordering from bloog because after all is said and done the only part of the order I am happy with is the battery. I'm giving my opinion, and that's how I feel. I'm always surprised ppl get basically told that they are being rude or making unnecessary remarks or whatever when someone is just commenting or saying what they have found true for them. I'm not looking for anything perfect. I just don't happen to like the hot vapor with any other flavor than ry4 which isn't my thing. The pcc does feel cheap and the one working one has had the battery cover taped on because it keeps falling off now. I've tried the product that I ordered in the other forum you’re speaking of, it was a friends and did find it comparable to the mf in my opinion but the vapor was cool. I don't care if a battery last 20 minutes longer as long as I have a pcc; otherwise I wouldn't have gone with the short batteries. So you posted that your much happier with bloog, I'm not going argue with that. You like and look for different things than I in your product and vendor. Please show me the same courtesy and allow me to voice my opinion that I don't like a product. I didn't and wouldn't give my opinion to a forum poster asking what to buy telling them to stay away from bloog. It's only my view and I’m not asking anyone to agree with me or to try to get anyone to leave bloog. I was just talking and hope I can do so on the threads here without people thinking I’m rude.
I'm sorry if I offended you in some way, I wasn't trying to ruffle feathers I only felt comfortable enough with the people here to be able to voice my experience and view.

Leaford,
Thank you for responding to my review. I realize flavor is subjective and in no way was saying anything about your red, I'm sure now that I've tried the flavor that all brands probably taste like gross peanuts and I wasn't putting any blame on bloog for that.

I thought you were the head guy and so I apologize as it's not your job or responsibility to be here answering questions or emails. It is however, I feel someone's responsibility. Where IS the head honco?

I still do disagree about the pcc though. I mean I honestly think maybe there's a new batch of pcc's or something because there's no way this one would not fall apart after being dropped, it's really bad :( Maybe I'm wrong about the pcc and I hope I am, but I've already had to tape the cover on because it comes off when opening it, but time will tell and if it holds up I'll definitely update my review to reflect that.

As I said to star i'm not looking for perfection, it doesn't exist. In the end bloog just isn't a good fit for me right now.

I understand the comment about the one flavor being GROSS. No biggie, I find some of theirs to be gross too. Commenting the vapor as hot/wet, OK that's your experience. Describing the PCC as "the biggest piece of junk ever and I'm afraid if i sneeze it'll fall apart.", yeah I've heard others say it feels cheap.

My point is, how was all that relevant to thanking the other guy for help with your order? Generally the polite thing is to generalize (e.g.,the other vendor). 99% of them will know who you mean anyhow.

I'd like to clarify that I'm not "happier with bloog" as in the company -- but I do like the battery and the 555 cartos better. But I don't badmouth V4L in here, nor do I play-up Bloog over there. They both offer me things I want that I can't get in one place.

Thats how it feels to me, I was being honest. If I don't like something, I'm not going to try not to mention it, in my post I was "talking" about my order like I would to a friend. I don't like the pcc, I find it cheap, I stated it. I erased the name bloog and replaced it with "company".

Now I find I don't feel free to talk and just rant on here without being careful of what I say. I've never been called or considered a rude person and I'm surprised that you thought I was. But it really bothers me that I was thought of that way I don't want to have to be careful of what I say not offending someone so I will probably not post again.

Some of us appreciate your honest feedback Dawn. You are not here complaining about something you have not tried or experienced. You are here because of ongoing issues that frankly still have not been resolved.

You cannot vape fruit flavors HOT. It's so gross. I tried another carto, another fruit again gross, but good vapor on that carto.

Ok, so I'm not the only one. Even in good cartos, watermelon is absolutely horrific. That's been surprising to me since I think Leaford has said watermelon is one of his favorites...

Works well when a company fails to acknowledge and email, phone call, or anything else. I think quite a few people might feel a little odd sending items back without any communication from the company. I cannot imagine anybody EVER being okay with that.

No, no, no. Watermelon is heavenly in a wow, but is literally un-vapable in a bloog. It's harsh and the sting is terrible (different than the acidic flaw), and the flavor is barely detectable. My wife and the couple we hooked on vaping all loved to use my watermelon on card night, but now noone will touch it. My friend's husband even -likes- the taste of a burnt wow, and he can't take it.

Does that mean watermelon works for anyone in these?
