I thought there was a problem with the LED light being out, but as it happens, the battery itself seems to be stuck in "activate" mode as well. The button still clicks, so it's not stuck in the down position. As soon as I connect it to a carto or atty, it starts heating the element up with any help from me.

Anyone else ever see this? It's less than 2 weeks old.

Yikes, it does happen unfortunately....I would call the vendor ASAP for a return. Its obviously broken and they should have no issues (if their a reputable vendor)

This does seem to happen from time to time. Just make sure you dont keep anything attached to the battery.
I know it's frustrating but try to hang in there. Many of us have had our ups and downs and bad vaping days. They do get better I swear!

call your vendor, ask them to replace it. my friend had the EXACT same thing happen, and then the whole battery got hot as hell, and died. it got so hot he threw it. don't mess with it. here is my unsolicited advice to you.

get a mod, i suggest a silver bullet from altsmoke, or an alpha or bb.....they work. they are simple
buy some ce2's or ce3's fill them up with your favorite juice or juices and you should be vaping "mostly" trouble free :) if you need or want help with info just pm me. boge cartomizers are great too, but the world of vaping just hasnt been the same since i started with my ce3's.

with the right set up, you will have minimal/no problems :) goodluck

one quick question for you though....how many liquids do you have and have you tried different vendors?

Thanks - I have emailed my vendor, but it is a holiday weekend, so I suspect I won't hear anything until tomorrow.

I swear to God, if I have to drop any more money into "new" models, I'm going to the nearest bell tower. Things should work, I shouldn't have to keep buying different items just to be able to have a decent "smoke."

I have tried several vendors and dozens of liquids. So far, the most consistent liquids I've found taste and vapor production-wise has been DFW Vapor. I've bought juice from Tasty Vapor, Liberty Flights, My PVshop, Americaneliquidstore, vapor4life, puresmoker, pink spot, and gourmetvapor. Probably others, I can't remember. Right now, I have around 30 bottles of various flavors in front of me.

same thing happened to me, those ego/riva batteries dont last as long as companies claim that they do, i suggest you think about getting a mod that takes rechargable lithium ion batteries and stock up on acouple extra sets, if you really are interested in ecigarettes and want to convert from analogs, mods are the way to go, egos/riva are just a good introduction starter product, look at variable voltage mods like te provari, darwin, buzz etc, theyre gonna cost about 200 bucks, but once you start using them a ego/riva doesnt compare

ive had 5 of those riva batteries and they all stopped working within a few months, one had the same issue your had after a few days i made the mistake of pulling it apart thinking id be able to fix it and the vender said after he would have let me return it, if you are stuck on the riva some companies will offer longer warrentys

I can also relate to your frustrations. I had two defective batteries, one in each of the fist two kits, when I moved up to 750's.
One stuck on like yours and the other had a problematic button. Needless to say I was more than upset.
The defective units were made good.
Juices are a personal taste and I have also tried many sites/flavors. I use ValuVapes for my personal preference and consistent taste/quality.

This thread is very discouraging. :( I ordered the Riva 510 Carto Deluxe just a couple of days ago because it was recommended in another thread. Already I'm regretting my decision. Haven't received it yet, but sounds like I should expect problems with the button and more. Wish I had done more research before placing that order. Guess you get what you pay for. This will be the second PV I've ordered in the last two weeks. My first was/is a Halo G6 which is just not strong enough. Wish I could start over.

I'd much prefer to invest more in a great, reliable PV that will last, that gives great flavour, vapor, and TH, and that I don't have to charge constantly. Is there any such thing??? I've already wasted $100 on unsatisfactory PV's and accessories (not including what I've spent on liquid). As my DH says, "you never regret buying QUALITY." Any recommendations?

When ecigs work like they're supposed to, they're extremely cool, but I always feel like I'm fighting some sort of battle on a daily basis between battery issues, attys burning out or getting flooded, juices not producing enough vapor, making me cough, or tasting like poo, and general inconsistencies. I'm starting to get bored.

I agree .. you would think that by now, most of the tech would be somewhat perfected and standardized .. however, it can still be a crap shoot .. I've been fairly lucky ..
