It actually helps if you go to a web page that sells the 510 stuff and then you can compare the pictures with what you have. Essentially a cartomizer is one piece which replaces both the cartridge and atomizer; my cartomizers are all a little shorter than the combined length of a cart and an attie.

I wouldn't worry a whole lot about the variations of stuff yet; just learn to enjoy it in its purest form, and then you can decide if anything's lacking for you and then find the solution with the helpful folks here.

Hi Debb.....

As a noob, my advice may not be as sage as the more experienced members here, but I found a wealth of information in the ECF library section. There are many good threads that discuss the various parts of the PV's and how to use them. Just a thought, but you might want to check out that section.

Ok...I don't have pics but hopefully can explain each piece.
1) the battery (batt) - longest piece
2) the atomizer (atty) - shorter with the mouth piece, threads onto the battery. The atomizer itself is close to the threads. Look down from the mouthpiece and you will see a silver thing sticking up, that is the actual bridge of the atomizer which heats up the juices when you press the button on the battery.
3) the cone - the piece that is shaped like a cone, goes over the top of the atty and attaches to the battery.
4) cartridges - what you fill with juice and attach to the mouth piece of the atty
5) cartomizers - an atty and cartridge together in one piece, these probably did not come with you PV.
6) charger - self explanatory, when you want to charge, twist the open end of the battery into the charger opening until it feels firmly in place.
Hope this makes sense, lol!
Now, if you'd like to get started....Try direct dripping: first grab your atty and blow into the mouth end, threaded end down and into a napkin to get rid of any residual packing liquid...that stuff is awful, lol! Attach it to the battery, drip about 3-4 drops of liquid directly onto the bridge of the atty, place an empty cartridge (w/no filler in it) over the open end of the atomizer, press the button for about 1 second and suck slowly for 3 or 4 seconds, like taking a sip of milkshake, release the button on the batt, fill your mouth and then inhale into the lungs, exhale. :) You can usual vape 3-4 times on that many drops, if flavor or vapor decrease, drip a few more drops. If you hear a gurgling sound, you have too many drops in there which will flood the atty. You can usually vape through this, but if it's annoying simply remove the atty, remove the cartridge from the atty and blow into the mouth end, with threaded end wrapped by a tissue...blow a couple of times. Reassemble and drip 2-3 drops and vape again.
Please note: this forum has some of the more commonly used abbreviations underlined, if you hover your mouse over the abbreviations, it will give you the meaning of abbreviation.

Yes maam! I'm direct dripping my Applewood right now...vanilla custard sound yummylicious! Just make sure with the direct dripping that you don't let the bridge dry out. Refresh with a few more drops when the taste and vapor start to decrease.
Oh, and you will learn by the sound of your atty as well when you need to refresh, so pay attention to the sounds, when it's good it a slight sizzle, when dry sounds airy, and when flooded it gurgles. This takes a bit of time to learn the difference in sounds, but I'm finally getting it down...
Happy dances for you!
