I saw in another thread the other day that a place called salt lake vapor had them in stock. I was a little unsure about ordering from Germany, on a website that is a little confusing. So I called salt lake and they had it on the shelf. Ordered it on Monday afternoon, and it showed up in north Georgia today.

The have a handful of them still, so if you are on the fence... Now is the time to get one before it's a three month wait again.

I wont really ally have time to set it up properly until tomorrow.... But from checking it out for any DOA issues.... It is a very, very well machined device. I know its a clone... But it is flattery in its finest form in build and production quality. Dunno how well it will set up, but the big reviewers love it!

I will ill post back here after I get it coiled and filled up.

set it up today. Got the coil built to 2.2 ohms. I filled it with juice, got it vaping.... Had super great flavor for about ten minutes... then it started tasting burnt. Using 2mm silica and 33 gauge kanthal.

Took it apart, the wick is jet black under the coil... like it was burning.... which it shouldn't ... took it to the sink, washed the coil and wick down real good... got most of the "char" gone.... put it back together after patting down the wick and re-saturating it with e-liquid... seems to be working better, but it will go back to tasting burnt again?

You said, you patted the wick down, did get the silica too far down and block the channels? The wick is just supposed to lay across the top of the channel, barely touching.

I got it fixed. I think ... And this is a guess with some advice off a Facebook vaping page.... That I wrapped the wire too tightly around the wick... And it maybe wasn't able to pull liquid into the wick inside the coil.... Either way, it is working fine now. Still playing with the air flow screw to find the sweet spot ... But that is a personal preference thing I guess.

I will say this, compared to a protank, the juice has a much, much stronger flavor profile now. I wouldn't say harsh, but you dang sure know what flavor you have in the tank.

Just an update. Bought a magneto to use with it. It looks good in there. I wish the finish on the tank matched the finished on the device though. As for the Russian, it is amazing. I am using a coil that is set at 1.7 ohms now ( just by chance as wrapped ) and it is a super nice vape. I do think I may go on and try the micro coil with organic cotton wick though. It looks pretty cool, and changing flavors will take only seconds.... And organic cotton balls are way cheaper than silica wick.

The end result, if you want a Russian and you see it available, get it. It is a super nice piece of vaping equipment.

Yeah, loving my Russian. I just did a micro coil build on it today, and love the fast response time for a vape, no waiting. Wrapped the coil around a drill bit, mounted the coil and then used a single strand of the supplied silica, (is that 2mm silica that came with it?), threaded it through, used the bird nest style, great vape. Seems that whatever way I try a build, it always works.

Just checked the Salt Lake Vapor site, sold out. Glad I got mine when I did.

Highly recommend you try the micro coil build on the Russian, super easy build. I've been using the mounting holes for the lead wires, Find it a lot easier to set up that way and gives more control for setting the height above the air intake.
