I attended my second CASAA Web meeting yesterday. Unfortunately my Internet went on the fritz so I couldn't continue. The webinar software didn't show me a list of attendees like it did before, so I am wondering how many people showed up. I like the progress that is being made and the bans that have been stopped. I was suprised that CASAA only has about 5 thousand members, for some reason I was thinking we had a lot more. But I'm sure this number will grow.

The webinar topped out at around 29 if I recall. The list was there, you just have to expand it at the top of the window.

It did seem as if there was a change to the software as I had a devil of a time getting things adjusted this time around. Just wish I didn't have to be in Windows to use the bloody thing. Irritates the bejeebers out of me when I have to do that.

I was again surprised at how few members attend these meetings. At first I was relucant to attend; was interested, but had no experience with webinars and such. But it's easy to sign up, easy to access, and actual participation isn't necessary. One can always simply sit back and listen.

Am wondering if attendance would increase if the meeting announcement could be posted as a forum banner for a day or two before each meeting? Do you think CASAA would be interested in doing that, and would ECF agree?

I never seem to have enough bandwidth left at the end of the money or I would listen in. Can someone run a meter and let is know how many mb's it uses usually so folks in my same boat have an idea. Thanks in advance.

I would happily do this for you, Uma, except I have no idea what you're talking about, lol! FYI, I have a very basic little laptop and a 1M dsl connection, and have no problems with the webinar s/w and participating (via laptop) in the meeting.

If you're connecting via smart phone or tablet, perhaps someone else can chime in and help.

Uma, if I can remember to do so (it's that CRS thing ya know!), I'll toss a meter online and see what shows up at the end of the meeting. I would imagine it's not too terribly bad as it's voice chat only with some slides being shown. No video at all. Although if you're using the cell provider's version of Interwebz access, it could very well do nasty things to your overage charges.

The webinar also has the ability to use phone access so you can listen in. Might be an option if you're worried about bandwidth allocations.

Edit -- If you don't mind, send me a PM next weekend before the webinar starts to give me a reminder. ;)

I have to figure out how to make the CASAA meeting a priority. If I were being graded on attendance Im sure to have flunked! I did send an e-mail requesting a copy of last meeting, tho never got a response. I have done this once before, If someone is limited on time, at least there is an option to stay UTD without attending.

The email probably got buried in the masses we get daily. Sorry about that! I'll PM you the link to the recordings as soon as I get the last meeting uploaded. :)

I cant speak for Kristin, Though, I recall this being asked before. I believe due to privacy reasons one has to ask for the link via their e-mail. I assume CASAA doesn't want certain eyes looking in on the meetings.

You are correct. CASAA meetings are not like vaping shows. They are working, informational meetings for members. While meetings are open to non-members to attend, CASAA made the decision that it was prudent to keep the recordings available for members only. (We almost didn't record them at all.) The link to the replay page is available to them upon request and they are asked not to share or re-post the link online.

I'm still waiting for the August 11th meeting to upload, 2coils. I will PM you the link but the most recent meeting may not be up until tomorrow.

I'm a member, can I have a Link too please.
I'll be a paying member eventually too.
I know CASAA would much prefer member participation at the meetings, though, knowing my schedule and track record with meetings, having a recorded version is REALLY a good thing. At least we can stay informed:)
