I bought 3x njoy 7-11 battery cartomizer starter kits in the past and refilled the cartomizers with a combination of vapure eliquid and some very cheap asian liquids from mad vapes. I was always frustrated that I could not get by with a single battery and always had to have one or two charging just to be able to rely exclusively on e-cigarettes. Eventually one battery died, then another and I was left with one battery and long gaps of feinding for nicotine while the battery charged up. Long story short, I bought a pack of cigarettes. E-cig got set aside, I was growing tired of the cheap asian liquids that I had a vast supply of.
Now, about a year later I decided I really need to get back off the cancer sticks and make the switch again. My old ecig hardware was all failing when I put it aside, and those old asian liquids I had have long since seen a trash bin. So pretty much I have read a good amount about ecigs online, used some different types in the past and wanted to start over from scratch while spending as little money as possible.
I looked around and did not see a starter kit that really met my criteria, so I just started buying various pieces off of madvapes.com to put together a little experimental vaping kit.
For starters, I knew I wanted something that didnt rely on always having a battery charging somewhere, I hated that. I knew this meant I was going to need a pass through. After looking around at all of the different options for batteries and pass throughs, I settled on this combo battery/usb passthrough.
Ego 510 Passthrough 3.7 Volt
This passthrough is great so far. It is an ego battery with the somewhat standardized 510 threading which gives you tons of options for playing with different cartomizers/atomizers. At $20 it's a great deal and it lessens the reliance to have a minimum of two batteries at all times.
I couldn't decide on what kind of new fangled cartomizer or atomizer system to buy, but after reading many reviews, I decided to try two types. of cartomizers. I had used cartomizers in the past and decided I would stick with them for now just to try out the newer designs.
The first cartomizer I decided to try was the clear ego mega dual coil cartomizer of which I bought 2x.
Clear eGo Mega Dual Coil Cartomizer, Flat Tip
It produces what I consider to be a great amount of vapor. Much more than the smaller cartomizers produce. I have yet to top it off, but while the vapor is great, the flavors don't come through quite as much as on the smaller 2 ohm cartomizer. The large quantity of vapor and storage of liquid would be nice for going out and about away from my house or anywhere where I don't want to be bothered with having to top off frequently.
The next cartomizers I chose were 2x madvapes 2 ohm dual coil clear cartomizers.
MadVapes 510 2.0 Dual Coil Clear Cartomizer
This cartomizer is similar to the cartomizers that I used in the past. The difference is this ones produce much more vapor, and the flavor is excellent on it. I am very satisfied with these cartomizers and so far I think they are going to be my go to cartomizer for sitting around the house.
So far I was at only $29.57 for everything I needed before e-liquid and shipping.
I knew I liked the vapure eliquids and luckily enough they were on sale. I decided to stock up on some since the price was so good and ended up buying 9x 10ml bottles one each of vanilla, strawberry, ry80, cherry, honey, chocolate strawberry, orange dream, tropical ice and watermelon @2.75 a piece.
I knew I liked their vy4 a lot already, so I bought 1 30ml bottle of it in pure vg, and one 30ml 50/50 bottle @ 5.50 a piece.
I ended up spending about 35$ on 150ml of high quality liquids from an american company.
For about 65$ total into my custom "starter kit" I have a pretty nice handle on having different liquids and flavors to play with and a variety of hardware to keep me going for a minute. I plan on buying some more of the smaller cartomizers next as I like the flavor they produce more. I will likely buy a atomizer and a drip tip in the future as well. I will update this thread as each of my first cartomizers dies. I'm going to buy more once I am down to 2 cartomizers left.
