My silver bullet needs a vent hole STAT. Will AltSmoke put one in it?

My pink SB is a beauty I agree, if you had watched my video you would see that my husband protected the paint on my SB very well. There isn't a scratch on it :) Even then.......I'd rather have a well vented/scratched device than a not so well vented/aesthetically pleasing device. I love your avatar Melody, did I mention that I graduated from Ohio State University as a Registered Nurse? :)

Even more of a reason to get to a houston vape meet. I'll let you know ahead of time that I will be there. It will be a pleasure to blow yours :). If you are really worried about it. Maybe you should send it back to CDDZ to find out what is going on with it.
Why send one of my mods off in the mail when my husband can take care of the problem? flame me all you want for putting vent holes toward the bottom of my SB. I'd rather be safe & flamed, than sorry & up in flames. Thanks AltSmoke for a super cute pink mod. Peace out ya'll

Sorry wasn't flaming was just saying. If the vent hole is plugged for some reason it would be an easy fix. PLUS to fix the vent hole problem he would have to rebuild the top of your SB. New switch, atty connection, etc. Brand new SB for the price of postage :).

She went to bed. She attended COTC right next door to OSU Newark.

I like the perimeter vent holes versus ones on the bottom that I planned. Should a venting occur, the initial pressure would be side to side, instead of pushing the mod toward your face. My top is also blocked and I'm currently using 4.8v NIMH batteries which present very little risk. I guess the bottom line is if it doesn't pass the blow test, take some action!

If you're stackin', you might be packin'!

I just ordered a green silver bullet last week and I also had worries about the whole venting thing because I expected it yo have a noticable vent hole like the omega, but after doing the blow test I found that it is well vented around the switch. I still might put one in the boyyom half for piece of mind, but probably not neccessary.

I just got my Silver Vein SB. At first I tried blowing through the 510 connector, until I realized that it's sealed...so I pulled the switch end off and blew from the screw end up into the head portion. The airflow isn't exactly like there's a giant gaping hole, but there is definitely air-flow.

Unless I find a 18650 sized fission reactor to put in there (Omg, imagine the vaping power), I feel pretty safe as it is.

I would not want any vent holes near the bottom of any of my SBs. I could lay it somewhere wet or someone could spill a little something on it and I don't notice and then the inside of my precious SB would be ruined....isn't that dangerous Chad? The inside getting wet? The batteries getting wet?

That's my position as well. If you use a single IMR or Top quality protected battery, like the 3100mah Panasonic, putting holes, especially the gaping slots the ECFMSS calls for, only increases your risk of shorting and damage due to not only water, but all types of other potential junk.

I can tell you for a 100% certainty that, had my BB been slotted or holed in compliance with ECFMSS, it would have been ruined by now, at best, and possibly worse.

The knockoff "Bolt" has one small hole in the bottom. You can bet your lunch that Smoketech will not be putting 200 sq. mm of venting in that unit. I'd hate to be forced to buy a Bolt to accommodate the Kick I've had my eye on. I doubt the Bolt is even vented at its $2 horn switch.

Ah..., I'm surprised they went through the trouble of copying the switch vent. Good on them. Too bad they still use a crap switch.
My BB has been subject to a lot of sand, saltwater spray and splashing and I've never had a problem with water intrusion at the switch.
So, I'm not concerned about that. But 200sq. mm of holes or, even worse, slots is a whole 'nother issue.

BTW, I wonder if Chad has ever actually seen a SB where the vent was blocked or inoperable.
How is that even possible?
I see posts from people who say they're getting no air-flow through the head.
I'm afraid some of these people might have too much air-flow through their heads.
Either that, or their lungs are already permanently damaged from smoking.

It is possible. A switch that may be a bit larger, a small burr of aluminum can obstruct the vent. Even if you can not blow through it very well the path is still there. The notches allow the presure to push up on the switch if it presurized from batteries venting. The switch is only potted in with hot glue. I know hot glue, how lame. LOL I don't use your grandmother's hot glue gun :p. 300watt industrial, that puppy will push 7 pounds of glue an hour! Anywho, here is what happens when CR123 go thermal. I am still waiting on the customer to send me the unit but I will post a couple pics here. This happend a few weeks ago.

It is good to see how it works. I like the fact that the SB does not have random holes all over it. One of the reasons I bought me one today id that I think these things are awesome looking PVs.
