Hey y'all, I started vaping at the beginning of summer and really really liked it. I bought a small 650 mah ego-t knockoff at the local smoke shop with the typical cardonizer. I went through 7 of them cuz they kept breaking on me and finally got a real ego-t. I also added 4 more cardonizers to my collection for a grand total of 5 so I could switch flavors. The vape pen successfully got me to quit smoking cigarettes after numerous failed attempts. Over the weekend I finally made the move to a Sentinel M16 with two 18650 2000 mah batteries and a nimbus knock-off RDA.

TLDR; Started with 650mah ego-t and five cardonizers just moved to Sentinel M16 with Nimbus knock-off.

My current questions are these:

What's the best charger for my batteries? I'm currently using a trustfire, but I'm unsure if it will last me.

Can I trust the nimbus knock-off?

Is there a new mech mod comparable to the M16 with a battery meter and resistance meter?

Welcome to ECF!

Ive had quite good luck with my Nitecore i4 and they can be had on e-bay/other sources for around $20 shipped.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-NITECORE-i4-Intellicharger-Charger-For-18650-1850014500-18350-16340-18700-AA-/370877725749?pt=Battery_Chargers&hash=item565a08fc35

By definition a mech mod has no internal wiring so what you are likely looking for is something along the lines of any entry level apv such as an SVD, Vamo, SID etc. There are several dedicated subforums and discussion threads for those and other devices here on ECF.

Best of luck!

Thanks for the heads up! I'm still trying to get used to the jargon, I'll look into the other devices in the sub forum.

I concur. I use the Nitecore i4 charger now since my Trustfire charger died. What used to take almost all day to charge my 3400mAh batteries only takes about 8 hours. I have a handful of both APVs and Mechanical Mods each with their own purpose. My RBAs and RDAs work best with the mechs,, where as my tanks work best on my APVs. The nimbus should work fantastically on the Sentinel M16 with a low resistance coil.

Hi Mastermatt. The Nitecore chargers are good. I use a Xtar WP2. They have a newer one that has all the bells and whistles but I have the older XP2. Xtar and Pila are considered the best, but the Pila is more expensive. I think you can get the WP2 for about $20 still. The Trustfire is not a good charger and I would not use it for long. Buy another one and keep that for a spare.

I don't know your Nimbus knockoff, but I have never heard anything bad about any of these. I have a IGO kockoff and it's great. Not really much that can go wrong, but still always keep an eye on it.

xtwosm0kesx answered your mech mod question. I would like to add that with any mech mod you do not have any battery protections built in. So, you are responsible for making sure you don't draw too much current from the battery, or it can get dangerous. You also meed to be using a IMR li-ion battery or it can get dangerous. You also need to watch that you don't over discharge the battery or you will damage it. I use a DMM all the time to check my batteries and the resistance of my coil builds to stay safe. You probably already know these things, just making sure you don't get any surprises :thumb:
