Last spring (2009) I started vaping and being new I was in the mindset of the "looking similar" to a real cigarette, so I got myself a 401 and for my husband a 901 (he wanted something less dainty). Started out great and quit smoking, my husband however didn't take to it and gave up....I hated filling the 401 carts so I took the 901 and was happy with it until battery charging drove me insane and I went back to real cigs.

Last week I decided to try again and once again I was reminded of the battery issues...out of 5 batteries only 2 will hold a charge, so I was resorting to using the 401 while waiting on the 901 batteries to charge. I got smart and ordered a 901 PT... wow what a difference! My problem now is that when I use just the battery it's a let down, the vapor isn't warm and the flavor isn't as good (maybe it used to make it warm and I just can't remember and I have 2 batteries and/or atties about to crap out on me?). So my question is... I've been thinking of getting the ego, hoping to get my husband to use it and switch but if he doesn't it will become mine, so will it give me warm vapor and flavor I'm looking for or should I be looking at a mod?

The eGo IMHO is a much warmer vape then a reg 510. Couple that with a LR atty and you should be fine for much less expense then the majority of mods. I truely believe the long battery life of my eGo is the only thing that kept me from running back to analogs. Have a low tolerance for frustration and changing batteries out would have been the end of it for me.

I'm with you. The eGo is a lifesaver, imo.

My 2nd e-cig was an Tornado/eGo, about a week after getting it I just forgot to smoke. Some 36mg paired with the eGo gave me the TH, flavor, and vapor warmth. It provided a good simulation to "smoking".

That was until I got a 5v from Ken's Box Mods . 5v provides a much hotter vapor, huge TH and clouds of vapor. For me it is much more like "smoking". caveat emptor 5v is a little tricky though; not all juices taste good; atty ohms really matter; requires more attention.

In my experience the eGo and compatible models are an excellent choice. They just work, and don't require much fiddling, and batteries last most the day.

Good luck, it took me 2-3 months of concurrent vaping and smoking till I just forgot to have an analog. I didn't even relize it, my wife noticed I didn't stink, and mentioned it.

Thanks for the replies. Was pretty sure it was what I wanted, just needed reassurance before I go searching and hit the buy button.... my husband would kill me if I spent more money and ended up with something like I already have.

Yea I deffinately don't need something I have to fiddle with more than I'm already fiddling with or it may just drive me back to real cigs again so I should probably stay away from mods for awhile.

You can always try an LR atty (low resist) whcih apes a 5v vaping experience (much cheaper too lol) or get a 5v PT (madvapes sell them) although I think they ar 510 threaded (and my 901 adapters didnt like it).
I do have en eGo myself and really love it (although now i have a 'big battery mod' it deosnt get used as often lol)

If I may ask, how much were you smoking previously?

It's been pretty much an "instant quit" for me, but I was smoking a little under a pack a day. Now using 18mg juice and quite happy... durned near delirious (in a happy way) from the vapors once in a while. lol Getting my nic fix plus, I think.

It's soooo nice not to go outside to get a fix! (over 100 here in the shade)

OP, I think karmatized has a sale on the Ego right now that includes one regular and one low resistance atty for about 44.00 using the coupon code. Look in the supplier thread for the info. I have never ordered from the site but if I needed another Ego (have 6 sets), I would be all over this deal.

I started vaping a mall kiosk kr808 or M9 with 16mg cartos, it wasn't enough TH or nic to match a kool. It did cut down on my analog use though.
I smoked Kools, 1-1.5 packs a day for the last 10-15 years of a my 27 year habit.
I'll be happily vaping inside this winter...

    Vickie,
I am in the same boat as you. I went USB as soon as it came out.
batteries on the 901 just don't cut it.
I've extensively tried my friends V3 from puresmoker and i do not understand how it got all those good reviews?

Did you get the EGO? if so how do you like it. I see a lot of community enthusiasm for the EGO. but....
IS IT REALLY WORTH IT? (not moneywise but timewise)

    Thanks

I just ordered it this morning but will deffinately let you know what I think when it comes...the supplier I decided to go with only had pink and white kits in stock until this morning and while I am a girl, I'm just not into girly colors. :D

Wasn't fully awake when I ordered it and forgot to order empty carts but the kit I got does come with an adapter to fit the 901 atty and it comes with drip tips, and prefilled carts (shuddering at thought of prefilled) so if I have to I can resort to using those things till I get around to ordering some.

I love my Ego. There is no loss in performance through a whole day of vaping. I bought some low quality disposable because I was in a hurry to get started till my eGo arrived. The battery fell off pretty quick it seems and I was constantly topping off the charge. No regrets with the eGo though. Got the two unit kit and I swap them out every day, after my morning vape on the one I used the day before. When I finish my work week on Saturday I like to eat junk food and be naughty, fired up my tobacco pipe for old times sake but it wasn't doing anything special. The eGo has definitely replaced my pack-a-day requirement. You will be very happy with your purchase.

I got my ego yesterday around noon and started using it right out of the box, I feel I'm a pretty heavy vapor and this is what I have gotten from the batteries so far.
first battery lasted from 12pm till 4pm
    2nd battery lasted from 4pm till 11am (I slept from 3 am -10am)
back to the first battery and it lasted from 11am till just now..10:50pm.

It doesn't get as hot as my 901 with the PT did but I would get that thing so hot that it would literally burn you if you touched your skin with it (which is probably a bad thing lol). I've also not tried an LR atty on the ego yet either which may make a difference. So far I am very pleased and think I made the right decision. I did get my husband to try the ego and he likes it alot better than the 901 but I just don't think vaping is for him. :(
