When I found Ecigs I really got into them, helping put info up for others, etc. I even sent two tank systems out as Xmas gifts. I was totally on Ecigs for 4 months without any cigs. Then my major trigger (it helps to identify these) wiped all that out. I bought a pack, then another, then another and finally just let the Ecigs sit in my plastic organizer.

So I spent the next 6 months on cigs. I'm now back on the Ecigs.

When I was completely on the Ecigs, I was totally sure I would never, never go back to smoking traditional tobacco cigs. But I was wrong. Hopefully, I've learned my lesson and will stay away from buying a pack again.

But here I am, starting over again. Before I went back "to the other side" I had purchased supplies for making my own juice. Can someone point me to some good current info on mixing? I think it's time to try it but I've forgotten most of what I knew once LOL. My elquid is 30mg and I want to make low nic solution.

Thanks Crazy Canuck. BTW, that should be 36mg not 30mg on the nic solution.

I am exploring the tips and Tricks. So far I've decided I for sure want to be able to mathmatically double check my solution instead of relying on someone's calculator so I need to be able to do both. I will get it figured out. Somewhere on my hard drive is the info I need but it seems to be easier to start all over.

This is such a great forum. I think another key to my staying on ecigs and not falling backwards is staying active in the reading and conversations.

The # aren't too hard.
ml_of_liquid_with_nic x mg_of_liquid_with_nic / ml_of_final_liquid = mg/ml of final solution.
mg/ml of final solution x ml of final solution = total mg of nic needed
Example: I've got 36 mg/ml nic base. I want 20 ml of 18 mg/ml final solution.
20 ml x 18mg/ml = 360 mg total nic in that final solution
360 mg / 36mg/ml (the strength of my nic base) = 10 ml of my nic base is needed.
For this mix, I need 10 ml of the 36 mg/ml, then I have the remaining 20 - 10 = 10ml to use flavorings and filler liquid.

I'm lazy -- I tend to brew a handful of DIY frequently, 60 ml at a time, and use a 60 mg/ml nic base. That means I need 1 ml of nic base for each mg/ml I want in the final mix :)

Visit the DIY section and read the guide, and follow any links to lists of the brand flavoring you are using - the lists will generally mark which flavorings are not safe to vape (have diacetyl etc) or are hard to use (oil based)

DIY e-liquid

And this is one good calculator

http://ejuice.breaktru.com/

And remember tanks prefer 20-30% VG so don't buy your nicotine in VG or you may not be able to make a juice with 20-30% VG only and the amount of nic you want.

This was very helpful, thanks. My nic is PG based so that's good. I hope to be making this before the end of the day. The first batch is no doubt the scariest.

Everyone - THANKS FOR THE OTHER WELCOMES AND COMMENTS.
