eat something spicy and dont vape the same flavor all the time. a lot of people have a few tanks with diffrent flavors to help with this. Some kind of mint flavor helps when it gets too bad so you can at least taste it. it is sensory overload and your tastebuds get bored. it happens and takes time for it to stop happening. mine came and went for months.

The lifespan of a taste bud is estimated to be 7 to 10 days. This is regulated by the cells that are found within the taste buds. They are developed and maintained by the nerve innervations, which is the distribution of nerves in the body. I just went through a bout of vapers tongue and had to wait about 3 days before my ability to taste came back. I could taste my mocha cappuccino but not my blackberry cobbler or butter pecan, it was odd.

I'm almost at the 1 year mark with vaping and I can honestly say *most* of the time I can't taste it. I don't switch up my flavors a lot though. I only have a few that I really like so I've just learned to live with it :(

2 years in and I can't either. Why I vape unflavored.

I have tried everything. I gave up worrying about a year or so ago.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one. I can taste the stronger, one note flavors, like Cinnamon Roll, Green Apple, and even Root Beer, so that's what I buy. I'm not unhappy about it - it's not like I smoked many different flavors of cigarettes either.:)

I think I smoked so heavily for so many years, that my taste buds are probably as good as they are going to get. So I will not able to describe the many layered nuances of peach-mango-kiwi juice, like some folks can.:D

Changing flavors helps a little. Your hardware, too. I don't taste much in terms of flavors (fruits are better) and I tend to taste the "sensations" better (salty, sweet, bitter, tart...). That's my taste buds working (tongue). The actual flavors come more from your nose than your tongue. Some people find it better if they exhale through their nose. Try that.

A few things you can try that won't cost you anything :

- Clean your tongue. If you don't have a tongue scraper (some toothbrushes have them on the back of the head), use a spoon. Works just as well. Be thorough but don't go too hard - you just want to get rid of the "film" that coats your tongue, not the actual skin.

- Clean your sinuses. Buy a saline spray made specifically for that purpose (you can find them in the OTC part of most stores and pharmacies). Not the best sensation ever but it helps tremendously.

- Eat some pickled ginger (the same as in Japanese restaurants)

- Eat a lemon (I know... but they will also help keep your teeth white if that's any consolation)

I've been vaping for almost 3 weeks now and it seems to be getting a bit better. I guess time is your best friend here. Some setups work better than others. Some flavors work better than others.
