I think the way I finally combated vapors tongue was a variety of things. I first switched flavors a lot which means, I went from sweet, to minty, to not sweet. At that time it didn't seem like it would do anything since all the flavors were so muted it didn't seem to make a difference. I also drank lots of water, but not just any water, I used water that had electrolytes infused (not the flavored water). It seemed to help with the dehydration much more efficiently. And lastly I heard that drinking coffee or sodas helped to kick start the taste buds so I did a combination of things to kick vapors tongue.
I didn't try the biotene. I did try brushing my tongue but that felt strange. LOL Anyways after the vapors tongue left, I make sure I switch flavors a lot to help my taste buds to not become numb.
My tastebuds are still around! Flavors abound and I can vouch for spicy foods becoming more spicy! I just got my regular order of buffalo wings and my mouth was on FIRE! When did that get so hot! LOL.. going to dial it down a notch for now on.
The only thing that has changed with my smelling so far, is that I seem to be able to smell a smoker 50 feet away. But other than that, smell hasn't exploded yet on me.
