I actually got my AiV samples in the middle of my vapors tongue. I dripped AQM and tasted nothing so I decided not to waste anymore. Today I vaped my sample pack and I was in heaven!

The last couple of days, even though I had vapors tongue, I was really craving a chocolate or coffee vape oddly enough...

Hmmm I got my AiV in the mail the day I developed my vapers tongue too. I think it might be a curse. We all wait excitedly for our AiV vapemail and when it finally arrives we get vapers tongue. Yup I'm coining it as the AiV curse from now on. Hopefully my taste buds will come back soon so I can drip my AiV. Like you mine is sitting there dormant because I couldn't see wasting it. I guess steeping it for a bit doesn't hurt either.

Pretty funny, because the same thing happened to me - the day after I received my first samples of AiV. Not even kidding. (I was probably 3ish weeks into vaping at that point.) Everything tasted like... pepper.

Then for dinner I made my favorite salad (with blueberries, strawberries, and feta cheese) and guess what? It tasted like pepper. Easy problem solving there -I knew I'd been cursed with vapor's tongue. Or, more precisely probably, newly-non-smokers tongue.

Don't worry - it does go away. I also agree with a previous poster, I would bet that samples from many vendors are mixed up ahead of time and have been steeping for a bit before you get them. Whereas most places that I know of mix the larger bottles when you order. Let it steep, let your taste buds get their groove back, and all will be well again.

I just wonder how many juice-makers actually compensate for the larger volume orders. Certainly the flavoring in a 5ml sample wouldn't be equivalent in a 30ml bottle. Do they actually keep the ratios correct when "super-sizing" juice orders, or do you have to add extra flavor drops?

Yup they do...it's based on percentages on volume. I learned how in my DIY stint if you are even a slight bit off it will change completely. Nicotine bases can taste different and change overtime. Good for steeping but bad for old old old juice. A huge bottle of a flavor they may rarely sell may not have sold as quick? Can easily find out by calling them. Most keep track based on lot an user numbers for reasons like this. Maybe you can get a fresh bottle?

I've been vaping for nine months, but I have that oh so lovely virus that's going around, not the sneezing, coughing one, but the nauseated, low grade fever, dizzy, splitting headache one. Vaping isn't adding to my headache or bothering my stomach, but I can't taste my juice at all. I can pick up three different PVs with three very different flavors and not be able to tell you which is which. They all taste the same--blah. I'm drinking extra fluids because I know fever can dehydrate you and that combined with vaping equals more water needed, but still no flavor.

Hope this virus and this case of dormant taste buds goes away soon. I miss my delicious flavors.

Menthol enhancer woke my tongue when it decided to go on hiatus.
I put one itty bitty...teeny tiny drop into my cartomizer the other day and WHOA!
But, it did the trick.
So, if you try it...
Use it sparingly!!!
Good luck with the 'taste bud blues'...
I know the feeling!
