If you read my signature with each of my post you will understand my story. I am a firm believer that your thoughts dictate your reality. I smoked for 32 years only quit one time for 5 days. I noticed it was starting to take it's toll. I thought about quitting every day. So much so that it was starting to upset me. I noticed everything, my breathing, the smell of my car, other people who smoked, everything negative that goes with smoking. I didn't understand why this had such a hold on me. I had heard of e-cigarettes (never heard of vaping until this forum), but didn't know too much about them. I never bought one at the gas station. Someone had posted on my FB about buying one and I was interested but they never responded to my post. So I went online and did some research and the obsession began...lol. My first e-cigarette was and still is by the way from Bull Smoke ( which I love ). I fell in love from the first vape. You see no one converted me I was ready and needed to do this. I THOUGHT ABOUT QUITTING EVERY SINGLE DAY !! So I threw away my analogs after 2 weeks and haven't looked back. It's been almost 2 months and I know that"s not that long, but I feel wonderful. I just didn't realize at the time how much fun this would be. My kids love that I quit, I love that I quit, and I make sure to tell everyone I know that smokes when they are ready to quit to VAPE. :)

Happy vaping !!

I think you nailed it - it's your state of mind that makes switching to vaping happen. When someone is ready it seems easy regardless of the device or flavor. Congratulations on getting close to two months already! I knew on my first vape that this was where I was going and I've never looked back. Let's keep on vapin!

Good Job all of you!!! I unfortunatly still use about 5 or 6 analogs a day because I dislike my pv and am broke!!... But im down from 30 a day!

Stick with it and keep exploring until you find the vape that does it for you...you'll give up those 5 or 6 without a problem when you find your "Vaping Happy Place" :)

Congrats on 2 months!

I complete agree with your assessment that you need to be ready to quit, but I will say that without information of the alternative (being vaping), they might not know they're ready. I started vaping when my brother sent me an email about the starter kit he got and asked me to try it out. At that time, I really had no plans to quit smoking and figured I was probably going to be hooked for the rest of my life. It was only after I tried vaping that I realized that it was not only a viable alternative, but a more pleasurable way to get the nicotine I crave.

So yes, I believe I must have been ready to quit, but I don't think I knew it until I tried vaping. :smokie:

I believe every person on this forum at some point in their life thought of quitting smoking. Even if it was just a fleeting thought, a subconscious thought or as my case a nagging thought that didn't go away. Vaping and this forum came to each of us in some form, because basically we wanted to quit. Even if we didn't realize it. Just my thoughts and beliefs.

9 months ago (and for years before that) I was smoking 3 packs a day. When I started vaping, I used 24mg nic juice, and I was able to cut way back, to 5-10 a day, without much effort. But I couldn't get rid of those last few. I'd have cravings after eating, and vaping wouldn't make them go away.

6 months and a few days ago, I bought some 30mg nic juice. As soon as I did that, I stopped smoking. I continued to use the 24mg juice as my "all day", and I dripped the 30mg after meals when I had cravings for a cig. That did the trick, and after that, quitting was easy.

Now I haven't smoked for just over 6 months, and I've gradually dropped my nic level down to 12, with plans to try moving to 6mg the next time I get juice.

So if you've cut back, but can't get rid of the last few, I'd suggest getting some higher nic juice. That's what worked for me.

Stick with it. Experiment around a bit. Converting from smoking to vaping is a pain - but it's totally worth it. I can't express how happy I am that I did it.

Good luck.

I got it from Freedom Smoke USA, but there are other vendors that sell 30mg, and a few even sell 36mg.

I didn't need much. I used the 30mg occassionally for a couple of weeks, and continued using 24mg as my all day vape. After a couple of weeks, I didn't need the 30 anymore. I still have some of it. As I'm cutting down, if I hit a point where I've ordered juice that doesn't make me happy due to lack of nicotine, I'll mix some of that 30mg juice in with it.
