Oh hai ladies and gents,

I am new here and generally new to the vaping world, loving it so far.
But recentely i hit somewhat of an issue...

I started out vaping fine, using a 900 MAH Ego battery and a vivi nova.

I started out with 18mg juice, which was too strong for me in nicotine, then i got 6 mg, which was ok, but not enough.
So i tried to order 16mg juice and well, it is also a bit too strong, but easier to vape than 18mg, im having some 12 mgs coming in.

Problem is this though, using those 16 mg juices, i started having some weird burning-ish sensation on my tongue, still have em now, as if I got burned by hot tea or coffee kind of thing and my tastebuds dont seem to be able to recieve any flavor from the juice im smoking (went back to 6mg, till the 12 ones arrive).

What the heck is going on? Is that normal?

The juices i vaped, i tested out 4 diff ones, all are made by Flavorz by Joe and sold from Pink mule. Blueberry, Blueberry Cinnamon Crumble, Strawberry Peach and Creamy Coco. I mainly vape the crumble one, cause i like the taste, but im getting a bit worried and confused. I am a huge food enthusiast and my tastebuds are very important too me, im also a food critic. Eating food its somewhat okay, i dont lose the taste completely, but vaping i can barely taste the first few drags... I need to take like 4-5 drags to even be able to get a hint of the taste from the liquid.

New coil on the vivi nova, everything rinsed, cleaned etc.

The juices i got coming in are from different vendors (i figured maybe its a vendor issue).

Any help is greatyly appriciated.

1) Quitting analogs is rough on the mouth and tongue for the first couple weeks. when I previously tried to quit I would always get kanker sores in the mouth and fever blisters on my tongue the first couple weeks.
2) PG could give you drymouth which could irritate your tounge. try a PG/VG blend
3) Highly doubt it but could just be the brand, try another brand.

I also doubted the juice, since it did sound popular and good.. Thats the reason i got em. I just ordered some fuzion juices and got some rawr on the way as well.

WHat does "prime properly" mean? I am new to this :p
If it is an allergic reaction, how would i know? Since some people say its normal to lose sense in your tongue and tastebuds etc?

I've been running low on DCT cartomizers. Last few days I've been using a vivi nova. It gives me a burnt sensation on my lips. Also causes a little bit of swelling. I attribute it to the heat from the vivi nova. I quit using the vivi nova yesterday and the problem went away. I would be willing to bet if you switch to a cartomizer your problem will go away.

I too have been having the same problem and have actually thought of trying a cartomizer. It seems to me that at times the juice is getting too hot and scalding my tongue. I am actually thinking that I may have been chain vaping too quickly and the atomizer was just getting way too hot so I have been trying to slow down and allow a little longer between vapes for the atomizer to cool off. I am using an ego-c.

Are you drinking lots of water? Vaping is extremely dehydrating as the PG and VG are humecants and "trap" the moisture in our mouths and thus the vapor. I drink 2+ liters per day and have cut down on my java.
Some have a sensitivity to acidic juices....not the same as eating fruit. I also get mouth ulcers when I vape anything with the sweetener Ethyl Maltol.
Lastly you may be getting actual nicotine juice on your tongue from a flooded delivery device. It does burn when applied to the skin.
You may also want to use a higher ohms on your PV as a low resistance ohms will give a warmer vape.

Thanks a lot for all the replies and help.

I drink a lot of water generally, so that is not an issue i believe. I have had some liquid come on my skin, fingers etc., it did not cause any burning sensation there at all. Not sure about the Ethyl Maltol to be honest, and the juices described are as far as I am aware, not acidic, or are they?

Currently, I have 9mg Liqua menthol in my vivi and its fine, no burning sensation or issues. I tried a cartomizer today at my local shop in Copenhagen and honestly, it seemed so much better. So i am considering getting a DCT to start out with and upgrade from that if i feel the need for it.

So many questions! lol

Any help on cartomizers will also be greatly appriciated. The guy at the shop had a carto, which he basically cut up at the bottom hole, he made like a huge line with what i believe was a knife. And says its perfect, doesnt flood or anything. Also he had some sweet juice in it, blue colored juice from pink spot he said, but could not remember the name of it.

I saw your problem when you described your rig. Problem:Vivi Nova. Solution: Dump VN and get yourself a Kanger EVOD. VNs burn juice at any power level. (Here comes the angry mob of VNovites!!) Personal experience! Vivi Novas suck...and I don't care who disagrees! Also you can smooth out a rough juce by adding a little pure USP glycerine available at Walmart and other drug stores. Hope this helps you out.

So far my Vivi Nova seemed to have been working fine, or well - now i am not sure lol.

Im supposed to get some new juice in the upcoming days, hopefully tomorrow and ill be trying that out, got some new coils etc. If i still get the burning sensation when vaping, ill go get me a carto and give it a shot, see if it is any better or whether it helps or not.

So my tastebuds might be blown due to a chemical taste or a burning taste? I didnt get that.

I've been looking around about cartomizers and so forth, but with so much info, that is so confusing, i got no idea what to do. Some say that cartos flood, others say that the holes are too small, then another say that it doesnt get enough juice etc.

Very very confusing, tons of info and no experience from my side, makes it hard to figure out what to do and how to go about getting a good and easy working device without the side effects of bad stuff happening lol.

I had some issues with normal Carto's as well, drys my mouth out really badly. I switched to a larger battery X2/Ego style with Clearo's both top and bottom coils and dont have anymore issues. Drinking plenty of water helps as well. I find the bottom coil Kanger t3's to be my favorites outside of a big tank.

Unfortunately the juices are not the same, all of em are different, so cannot really mix em up. The 6 mg I have is like a moonpie kind of flavor, which doesnt really go with any of the others.

I am not sure about my vg/pg, but as far as i know, its 70vg/30pg. But i am not 100% sure on that, does not say anything on the bottle about the pg/vg.

I will be getting a dct tank and an ego twist by the end of this month i think, unless my issues persist with the tastebuds from using the vivi nova, then ill switch immediately.
