Hi everyone. This is my first post. Just to introduce myself, I'm a 48 year old male who deals craps in a Tunica casino and live not too far away.
I'm one of the few people who was an ex-smoker already when I came into vaping. My successful quit attempt was accomplished using lozenges. I started out with the Nicorette mini-lozenges (2 mg), worked into the normal Nicorette lozenges, and finally the somewhat cheaper and much better tasting Equate lozenges. I started on Halloween 2010. What I would do is go as long as I could on the lozenges, buy a pack, and smoke it in a day, and then back to the lozenges, and so on. Over 6 months, I'd average about 2 weeks between packs. The last few packs of cigarettes got to tasting really nasty. I actually had to fight down my last pack. I literally did NOT enjoy my last cigarette, but I knew for a fact it was my last!
The problem was that I was now addicted to lozenges instead of cigarettes. I could not get off of them and was popping them faster than I should have. One of the reasons I quit was to save money, however I was spending almost as much on lozenges as I would have on cigarettes. On top of that, the lozenges were giving me health problems. I had developed an extremely bad cough, which would bring up an extremely large amount of mucus each time that I had to spit out. Co-workers were really starting to get worried about me.
Luckily I had a co-worker who was a vaper that got me started into vaping. Through vaping I've been able to slow down on the lozenges, and the cough is now gone. I'm still not completely off, but I'm getting there, and starting to see a reduction in my nicotene replacement cost as well. Anyway, I'm probably the only person in the world using vaping to quit lozenges. I feel like I'm trying to quit smoking all over again.
Well, that's all for now. Thank God you guys are here!
