My USB-passthrough is dead after less than 2 days.

the best way to improve the life of your passthrough is to reinforce the cable that comes out of the cherry with heat shrink or electrical tape. You can't see the cherry, but if you don't do this then the cable will inevitably get ruined by being bent and twisted. Ruined two passthroughs this way before i figured it out.

Can you post a pic on how you did this? I just got a replacement passthrough... worked good for 4 days, then now starting to act up. It doesn't draw smoke half of the time, and when it works, it continues to draw smoke for 3 seconds after I am done taking a hit. It makes my atomiser very hot.

try a different one,

I have 2 x usb passthru's from bestecig -
still using the first one --
still going strong after 4 months
continual all day - every day use on the pc.

I have 4 x usb passthru's from ecigarettemall
still going strong after almost 3 months
continual all evening use on the usb wall plug

to protect your wires, if you need to,
just wrap some electrical tape or duct tape
around the wire where it joins onto each part
of the usb battery cig.

I thought I had, what with Puresmoker having one of the better reputations around here. I don't want to plunk down $20 over and over to find the 'good' one, when they are all pretty much generics of the same.

That said, I've ordered a manual switch and usb pass-through from JantyUSA. So far, that experience hasn't been great (as evidenced in a few other threads) but I'm hoping it does the trick when it arrives.

I put the tape on it the day I got it and it's still kickin after about 3 weeks.

I would suggest not doing a lot of dripping into the atomizer. That's a sure way for juice to get into the switch area and kill it.

Lol, smoking no-where - Your usb looks like my homemade usb rig, except mine has a switch on the end. If you guys ever put a manual switch on one of those usb rigs you would never go back to the suction switch thing again. It pretty much makes it a usb screwdriver.
